I am devastated. My Grandmother's priceless heirlooms and furniture, damaged and destroyed!!! I feel sick to my stomach reading the other bad reviews and how much they align with my experience. I hired American Plus and Moving to ship some of my grandmother's belongings that I inherited across the country. I thought I did my due diligence and shopped around for the right service. They were very prompt and helpful at first. As soon as they picked up the items in Oregon, that all changed. Customer service would not pick up the phone or return my calls. Finally they showed up after 2.5 months. The delivery showed up in a Uhaul. They demanded cash and that I sign the contract before they even brought anything in the house. As a single woman with my two sons, I felt pressured and intimidated. They then brought in the things as quickly as possible. When I started opening the boxes I thought I would be sick. I paid for the packing and packing supplies. This is what I received. Both dressers, damaged. ceramics is absolute shards. It looks like someone took a baseball bat to my grandmother's things. I felt like I had lost my grandmother all over again. I don't understand how people can be so heartless and horrible. Now I am going through the claims process but that feels like a fraud, too. They are rude and dismissive, which breaks my heart because you can tell that these human beings have become callused due to all the abuse they inflict on their customers. I am going to do everything in my power to get these abusive frauds off the market. This should be illegal. Shame on you, American Plus Moving and Storage. Shame on you.

The WORST move I could ever had. I don't recommend this company at all because of the following: 1) They lost parts of the items they moved and until today they "are checking" where they are. 2) They sub-crontracted a non-professional carrier, therefore they damaged the furniture and they mixed my furniture/stuff with other's move. 3) They charged extra fees (elevator, move, packing, etc) when they picked up my stuff and when they delivered. I wouldn't pay, they didn't unload. Overall an awful experience. I really regret to chose this company for my move. I can't believe why it has good reviews, not sure if they are fake. I moved from San Diego California to Bradenton Florida, the initial quote I got for a 3 bedroom was just shy of $5,000.00 Dlls 2 days before the move giving a more exact count off boxes the quote doubled (with no time to find another provider). The day before the move the subcontracted company (they do subcontract) let me know that their estimate was actually wrong and it should double again. We got rid of one bedroom, dining table, sofas, etc... I thought we'd be down to our initial quote. we were not, still double. When they were ready to deliver at Florida they let me know my street was not big enough for an 18 wheeler so I would need to pay another $1,500.00 for a charter service, even though when we packed it was a truck and what delivered was the same size truck, because the used an 18 wheeler in-between, it turns out all boxes were tossed.. not placed but tossed from place to place, many broken items. At the end of the day we payed 3 times the initial estimates to have our things delivered broken or damaged. To file a complaint and get the insurance to kick in I called and emailed support repeatedly, no answer. All I can say is they are great at selling the initial quote, but far from fulfilling what the promise. I do not know other movers, but I will most certainly stay away from these. Next time I think I will use pods, fill them in myself and just have them moved, cheaper and safer.

If you want your sanity and belongings DO NOT use this company!!! Took 10 weeks to get my belongings added an extra 575.00 in bogus fees. Each box was damaged, water, mildew. Things were broken, things were ruined from water/mildew. Brand new sofa and loveseat runied!! Family heirlooms damaged, broken and they loss boxes of mine.

Original review: If there was a zero star rating, I would have chosen it. (ALERT- this company is not the moving company, they match you with a company and you have no idea what quality of company will move you.) American Plus Moving was absolutely horrible. In the contract I signed they promised door to door professional service and expert advice. Once I signed my contract I could not get ahold of them. 8 out of 10 times I would get a voicemail stating they were not available to take calls and if I needed something I would have to email them. They did not call me to let me know which day the movers would arrive as they stated they would. My movers did not show up until 10:20 PM - more than 12 hours after the stated arrival time. It took several calls before the company answered the phone when I called to find out what was going on. They said they would contact the moving company dispatch and call me back. Instead, they sent me a text with the driver's name and number. The driver would not answer my calls. Once again, I could not get through to American Plus movers by phone. I tried texting to the number that they had sent me the driver phone number on and received no response until 3.5 hours later. The response: The company was closed for the day and I could call them tomorrow. Absolutely no customer service! When the movers did show up they wanted to charge me an additional $650 for bulky items. These items were listed on my inventory list with American Plus Moving yet they did not tell me that I would incur any additional cost for this. It is in the contract that the movers may charge but American Movers promised expert advice- you would think they would let you know a piano will cost you additional fees. I was so angry I told the movers to leave- between them not showing up on time, not communicating with me and trying to take more money I was not putting my possessions in their care. The next day I got an email from American Plus Moving asking how my move went. They had no idea that I had canceled the movers. I tried to contact the company several times to demand a refund but I kept getting a voicemail. I finally filed a dispute with my credit card company. I tried once again to reach American Movers via email and they said they would refund my card IF: I had not filed a dispute and I promised not to say anything negative about the company.. I let them know I had filed a dispute but would cancel it and that I had a new card number because I had lost my card. They did not tell me I could not be refunded because I had filed a dispute, but they said they couldn't give me a refund on a different card number. I spoke with my credit card company who assured me that it was possible. Again, American Plus Moving said they could not. They did not offer to send me a check or any other form of reimbursement. I asked if I needed to continue with a dispute in order to get the refund and they quit communicating with me. I lost the dispute because it is in the contract that if you file a dispute, they do not have to reimburse you. I feel as if they purposely quit communicating so that I would continue the dispute. Never have I had such horrible customer service, complete lack of communication or help. This company showed a complete lack of honesty and integrity. Update August 27 2021: Within 24 hours American Plus Moving responded to my review posted on August 19 2021 stating they would love to help get to the bottom of my issue. I immediately emailed the representative giving them my job number and date of move. After several days with no response I emailed not only the representative but the client care team. Again, no response. They give a great public image but they don’t follow through and help the customer. They are not trustworthy.
