I recently moved from Florida to Texas, and it was the most stressful and disappointing experience I've ever had with a moving company. Initially, I was quoted a total cost of approximately $2,500, with assurances from Anne, the sales representative, that there would be no additional costs. Despite not adding any additional items, I was shocked to learn on moving day that an additional $2,500 had been added to the bill, bringing the total to approximately $5,000. These unexpected charges were never communicated to me. The company's communication was abysmal; I had to continuously call and text only to receive evasive responses. I was promised the driver’s contact information for updates on his ETA so that I can make the necessary arrangements to be available but never received it. My interactions with the company were consistently unprofessional, and I felt mistreated. Upon delivery, several of my items were broken, and I even received belongings that weren't mine. When I reported my complaint to the manager, Steve, he was dismissive and lacked basic customer service skills. The delivery man in Texas refused to carry my items, including boxes and a mattress, up the stairs, citing hip and back problems, and suggested that I hire people from Home Depot to assist. He arrived at 2 pm and insisted on leaving by 4 pm, claiming he was working on four different time clocks. Additionally, a roach was found on a blanket taken from the truck, and my belongings were not handled with care. Many boxes were damaged despite being labeled as "fragile" or "nothing on top." I witnessed the pickup crew throwing and kicking my personal items, resulting in broken mirrors, a broken headboard, a broken floating table and broken wine bottles upon arrival. The worst part is, I learnt about my broken items after I made my final payment upon delivery. They took my money and then told me the news regarding my broken items, how disgusting, dishonest and deceitful. I strongly advise against using this company. It is better to rent a U-Haul and handle the move yourself. Be very cautious about the contracts you sign, as they are deceptive. I am currently seeking legal action against this company.

This has been stressful a terrible experience. I’m sure some people have had great experiences notated by their many positive reviews however what I can say is that I was solicited to take my original “bad” post down which I did and to place either a positive or no post at all if they delivered my items. So, I can only assume that’s what some of the other positive reviews are from. I am not going to post good or bad but an honest reflection of my experience for what it’s worth, I truly wish I was spending my time in better ways had they delivered all my items or the items that were delivered weren’t broken, stolen, or water damaged I’d have moved on. If you want your time respected and your things in a timely manner or your things at all or not have other peoples items not to mention several items of what was delivered were broken or damaged don’t waste your time with A1A movers. They will quote you low to get your businesses then show up and charge you significantly more for items you mentioned on the quote. Smart business because it’ll put you in a bind forcing you to capitulate. Additionally on the pick up they called last minute to change the date that’s fine things happen but that had me scrambling last minute also on their website they claim no delays…, then I was upcharged 750 more on site after being quoted a price, this was a huge difference and my items were very similar to what I described actually less things were packed. I could maybe understand 200 maybe 3 even 4 if it was way off but I was pretty accurate. So, I had additional fees applied even though they claim no hidden fees on their website… , then it was explained to me that none of my art would be packed and had to buy boxes from them or they wouldn’t move it even though I mentioned this to them during the quoting and that was not explained. I had to wrap my own art up in blankets to have them move it. next I was promised two movers per the contract only got one, then had to help move my own things because the guy couldn’t even though they claim hands off service, when I called to explain the situation, they said it was a one person job but clearly if the guy couldn’t move all my things it was not a one person job and even still per my contract I was to get two. I could’ve and would’ve have moved on with my life if they delivered my things within a reasonable time , not broken , damaged , dirty or flat out missing or stolen or trying to give me other people’s items. Damaged or missing items: -TV 400- 600$ -Area rug ~2500-3000$ -Area rug completely missing/stolen ~500$ -Roomba with auto bin ~7-900$ -Art completely missing/ stolen ~250$ -Art one damaged one survived ~50$ -Art ~40$ -Couch was very dirty and turn , was able to clean ~100$ -Bed was dirty had the plastic ripped, was able to clean somewhat . -Half the sound bar delivered , bass missing/stolen75$ -Living room chair missing /stolen 200$ -Some Glass ware which is somewhat understandable broken30-60$ 5600-6000 in lost/stolen/damaged items. I stored my things with them and and it has now been almost a month and still have not received my stuff. Now they have scheduled my move and my girlfriend and I will have been without a bed to sleep in for over around 10 days in which time we had to make other arrangements. we now have to spend our own money for that . We were offer 200dollars off then when the movers finally arrived no one had a clue about a discount at all at first then they remember 100 dollars all while I’m telling them it was 200 adding to the stress because they refused to deliver the items and then finally they were able to get the confirmation only after I agreed to the 100 dollars off so I could get my stuff . Communication has been spotty, promises unfulfilled or unclear. There was only one customer service lady who was helpful understanding and gracious and I wish I could about her out but I cannot remember her name at this time. I can not stress this enough absolutely horrible experience if there was a negative 5 star option I’d select that. Good luck if you choose them.

Where to start. We used this racket for an interstate move after requesting a quote online and getting inundated with phone calls from every mover in Florida. To kick things off, they sold us on a price that wound up being *literally a third* of what they would eventually charge based on a total estimated size of our belongings that I can only assume the sales person pulled out of thin air. Moreover, we were told that they would pack and box some of the items for no additional charge (which is unusual so we were impressed) only to be told later that they only meant they'd use their blankets and that we now owed them an additional couple hundred dollars. Of course, we only learned of these increases once they'd loaded everything onto the truck. It's my fault for not pulling the plug right then and there, but the guys doing the actual lifting weren't at fault and we were told to check back in with the company to get the price fixed. Needless to say, we were never permitted to speak with the original sales person again. Instead we got Steve from "customer service", whose job is to stall and keep you on the rollercoaster until everything ships. Anyway, since I'm a chump, I let Steve convince me that, in terms of cubic square feet, they were still cheaper than the other options so we moved ahead. Eventually the truck shows up with the driver and three young local guys he apparently found on Craigslist who didn't appear to have any experience moving furniture, one of whom smelled so much like weed that the house stunk for the rest of the day. The driver (who didn't lift anything the entire time) immediately starts hitting me up for upcharges for everything from stairs (which had already been paid for) to the heaviness of the furniture (which isn't a thing). He also tried to insist up front that I sign a waiver stating that all of our items were present and in original condition and that the move had been successfully completed. I got him off of that idea for awhile but more on that later. About 30 minutes in, I realized they hadn't been in the house for awhile, so I went to the driveway to find the lifters yelling at the driver and him threatening to call the cops. The movers were claiming they're being shorted and were demanding up front payment, and I wound up having to mediate and guaranteeing their paychecks if the driver didn't come through just to keep the job going. This is running too long so I'll try to bullet point the rest: Every piece of furniture was damaged, either in transit or by the movers themselves. They smashed up the floors, stairs and walls. Before the extent of the damage was apparent the driver stopped the job to say that before they take anything else out of the truck I needed to sign the waiver or else they were done (again my fault for caving). The four of them confronted me about half way through to demand/negotiate their tips. After awhile they stopped caring where everything was supposed to go and just put boxes/furniture in random rooms and in random spots. They left all of their garbage either in the house or on the porch (clean up was actually a line item in the order, which the driver never read). Anyway, you get the idea. Litigating would be attractive if we weren't so eager to get this behind us.

May 1st, 2024 If there was a 0 stars, I would have chosen that. They don't even deserve one star. My mother passed away I wanted to get some of her stuff moved from California to Oklahoma. I messaged with several moving companies and even had ones with less expensive quotes but I liked the saleswoman (Anne) at A1A Movers, we chatted about people who have passed. She seemed genuine. All our conversations happened through text because I wanted everything in black and white. No, I said, she said. The day of pickup, the movers got there and right away, said that it's going to be doubled of what was quoted. I said uh no! I have through text messages that there wouldn't be any price changes and that was the price. They insisted on doubling the price. I got on the phone with the dispatcher and A1A and told the movers to leave. I said not falling for the bait and switch game. I asked for a refund of my deposit and chatted with several people at A1A. Sent them the text messages on how the price was not going to change. After going round and round. One of the managers called me and said no refund and hung up. Do not use this company. They will rip you off.

This has been a nightmare. Transaction took place picking up my furniture in Lowell, Ma on 9/13/2023 and delivered on 9/18/2023. I doubled paid. I paid $1420.70 to the driver and again to the company which I was only supposed to pay the driver. I have sent them documentation of the double payment. They also damaged my furniture which I have reached out to them as well as filed with their insurance company (Anthem Claims) with no luck. My order # 6112215 is what they referenced. The most outrageous thing is, this is the same company that moved my furniture up to Massachusetts 2 months prior and put in a storage which the items were never moved out of and they made me pay an additional $1000 more than the more I just completed 2 months prior. I need my money that I have overpaid and the damage to my furniture. At this point I also need compensation. This has been a headache and very stressful. I HAVE MORE PICTURES TO BE UPLOADED Please call me cause I have the receipts of the payment also if they didn’t get uploaded
