This company is horrible to deal with. As previous reviewers have said they promise the moon and then outsource to another moving company, in our case Top Notch Movers, I call them Top Botch! Not only did they not complete our move from Maine to Virginia by leaving items at our home, they hold you hostage at the end of the move and demand payment before they will remove one box from their truck! So after we begrudgingly hand over our balance in cash they emptied their truck but quickly wanted to leave before we surveyed for damage and ensuring boxes were in the right rooms! Needless to say we uncovered lots of damage and more work on our part to move items to the correct rooms. All after paying over $10,000 and these guys had the gall to ask for a tip! I called Odyssey this morning and they were supposed to email the link to place a claim…. It is after 6:00 pm and I still have not received that email. Better Business Buteau will be my next call! Furious in VA😡

This is the worst moving company ever!!! Bill Rosen was my contact person. He quoted me a price and when the movers showed up they wanted another 1200.00 dollars! And then they pulled out a gratuity paper! They had me because I had to be out that day. Not only that they couldn't fit everything in their truck. I had to rent a uhaul to finish! When my items showed up at my house these new guys pulled out a gratuity paper!! My brand new glass top stove was completly smashed from them putting items on it. Trying to file a claim was impossible.. They subcontratcted the move to Diamond movers. This was very hurtful and costly. DON'T use either company!!! B.B.B is next to hear this.

UPDATE: 1 month later after an annoying process to file a claim with ANOTHER 3rd party company that handles the claims, we were given $82 for all the damage and loss we incurred. The guy at Odyssey told me we were fully covered/insured with our "white glove, hands off move", but we were only given $0.60 per lb. of damage/loss. $82... for over $4k in damage and loss. The things that DID NOT EVEN MAKE IT to our house cost more than $82, let alone the damage to the stuff that did make it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NC --> CA. Dealing with Odyssey went well.. at first. I got what I thought was an accurate quote, communication went well, and then came time for pickup. Your stuff will be handed off to a 3rd party moving company and they are the ones handling your stuff. They seemed efficient and moved everything out quickly, but they barely spoke English so it was hard to communicate. A few things were not disassembled (like the contract said it would), and got damaged, even though disassembly is part of the 'white glove' treatment. I was charged $150 at pickup due to long carry and stairs. When I asked Odyssey about it on the contract at first, they said the moving companies were pretty lenient and not to worry about, even though I told him about the stairs and distance, and they didn't put it in the quote. Fine. And then I got charged $265 extra for packing supplies. I showed the mover the contract that everything would be wrapped, and asked why I got charged extra. They said that it only covered the blankets, but not the shrink wrap and packing tape. $265 for shrink wrap- from a moving company…. The mover never mentioned doing any of this to me before they loaded the truck. Very unprofessional, but I said ok - I needed my stuff moved and maybe it would offer better protection for my things. So $415 extra at pickup. 3.5 weeks later, we get our stuff. Some things never made it to the destination, and others were damaged. Additionally, I had to hire my own movers, and rent a truck to save me from an EXTRA $800 for shuttle service, long carry, and stairs at the destination. Be aware of the nickel and diming that this company will screw you on. Mind you, I was honest with everything by from the get go to try to avoid additional fees so I knew what I would be billed for. I saw the way the movers handled our stuff and others that were loaded on the same truck, not good. The reason I went with Odyssey was due to professionalism at first (which was lies to get you to sign the contract), the fact that it was 'hands off' moving, and the hope that my stuff would get cross country without damage. I do not know how this company has 4.8 stars. I may up my rating depending on how customer service handles my claim for all the damage to a desk, bookshelf, $4000 couches, end tables, patio furniture (pictures attached). I am putting the damage claim in today so I will update this post at a later date about how they handle that.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! I have moved repeatedly and this company is without a doubt the worst experience we have had. After receiving payment, they left us in the hands of a third party (that charged us 40% more!) and simply disappeared, this third party turned out to be an absolute fiasco, my belongings were damaged and dispersed in 3 different states, after 3 months they are still missing. I also have boxes that are not mine. The worst mistake I have made, contacting these scammers.

RUN!! BUYER BEWARE!! Let me start by saying that I used Odyssey Moving Group based on their reviews at the time. That was a mistake because previous 5 star reviews, in no way reflect the level of service and frustration they cause. In my case, a move was scheduled for 11/29/2023. What Odyssey Moving Group did was farm-out my move to one of the worst moving companies in the US (Blue Diamond Moving, based supposedly in Kansas City) I also have a review posted there but the below information is a synopsis of the reality that all of this was. Bottom line, use a major carrier. Do NOT use a broker and do not use Odyssey Moving Group. They care nothing about their customers. (Review of Blue Diamond Moving - engaged through Odyssey Moving Group) - Everything you see in the horrible reviews is absolutely true. My story is very similar to all of these and as the previous reviewer mentions, I too used Odyssey Moving. What I wasn't told at the time was that they would broker the move out to the most incompetent moving company they could find. That's exactly what they did. Our move was relatively simple. Movers were contracted to only move large items/furniture and about half a dozen boxes. We packed and loaded the rest in a POD. Thank goodness we did or everything we owned would have been damaged, broken, or lost. Our move commenced on 11/29/23. When these morons showed up there was ONE (count 'em... ONE) person who shoed up for a mid-distance move of 517 miles. That was at 9am. It wasn't until after 4pm that "a crew" of pot-heads arrived. It took until almost midnight to complete the load and even then, they'd been so stoned that they couldn't figure out how to get everything in the truck. In addition, we start down the road of them wanting more money. It was constant. Just like the others have said here, they basically hold your stuff hostage and threaten to either not finish, or not show up until you pay. They pay no attention to customer service. During the 5-6 days we waiting on our items to be delivered, I was treated like a scumbag by "Eli"... the Blue Diamond person. I never quite understood who (or what) he was, other than someone who has no business dealing with the public. Upon delivery of our items, right off the truck, first item was damaged. Every single item we have had some type of damage. And again, we're held hostage with "pay me more money we won't unload your stuff". Our initial estimate from Odyssey was very, very detailed. We went room by room, item by item to ensure that EVERYTHING was accounted for. In the end, we payed double what that estimate was. Then came the fun of dealing with the damage claim through some horribly designed website that Odyssey Movers gave us. Aside from a million pop-ups, this site looked like it was an experiment from a 3rd grade programming class. It took weeks and weeks to work through and in the end, for all the documented damage we were offered a grand total of $87.00 ...BUT... in order to get that money they require you to sign and notarize a document that fully releases Blue Diamond Movers from any/all liability, blah blah blah. I refuse to do that. Long story short here, read these reviews. Do everything humanly possible to NOT work with these crooks. They will treat you like crap, steal from you and destroy your belongings. I've moved many times in my adult life, more than one long distance move and I can honestly say this was THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER....and not one person from Odyssey Moving or Blue Diamond cared. Not one.
