Very misleading company promise a pick up on a Monday, Seven days ago contact the rep he promise to pick up on Monday afternoon quoted price $550 then stated he didn’t have a driver then found one quoted another price over $1000. Only in town for the weekend to get a vehicle picked up a complete disaster a nightmare a waste of my time. Do not use his company they play too many games

RUN AWAY FROM THESE CRIMINALS. Short version: terrible communication, took longer than it should have, they damaged my car, wouldn't admit fault or provide a dispute process, then tried to intimidate me into giving them my money by threatening me, then called me a bunch of expletives! Long version: I had Stars & Stripes Transportation transport a car from Texas to Massachusetts. Upon receipt of the car, the company marked that it had only exterior scratches and accepted a deposit of $150. Upon delivery in, I was to pay the remaining $575 in cash after a 12-point inspection. The office confirmed with me that the driver would have change. I was made to believe that the car would arrive on Thursday, then was told Friday. When I called the driver to ask about his location, he wouldn't answer his phone, wouldn't call me back, and then let his voicemail get full so that I couldn't leave a message. It's crazy how they expect people to wait around at home for 3+ days because they can't be bothered to call people back or at least communicate to their main office their updated ETA. The driver finally called me back on Friday and said he was in Virginia, and that I should call back in the morning to check on their ETA. I did call, and no one answered. I called the office. Their office person (Ivan Santos) called the driver and promised me the driver would call me back, and that he'd call me later to check to make sure the driver called me back. Neither driver nor office called me to update me as promised. When the car did FINALLY arrive at 10 pm on Saturday, two drivers, Omar and an unnamed man, tried to rush me into signing a document confirming receipt of the car and to pay them in cash without inspecting the car. Then, they tried to distract my attention away from what I soon realized was a missing spoiler. They insisted that it had been missing upon receipt of the car in Texas. It was not. It was not documented on the documentation they had filled out in Texas and I showed them a photo of the car taken a week prior showing the spoiler in place. They insisted that I was wrong, that the spoiler had been missing the whole time. I called my father, who had given them the car in Texas, who said the same - the spoiler had been there when he gave them the car. (Did it fly off, or did they steal it? I'll never know.) I told them we clearly wouldn't agree at this juncture, so I asked them what the process was to file a dispute with the company, as I'm sure this is not the first time this has happened. I wanted to call the main office to ask them what the dispute process was, but it was 10 pm on a Saturday and the office had closed at 2 pm. We were never given information prior to the transporting of the car what to do in this scenario. Also, Omar kept insisting that he was the owner and that there was nothing I could do (which I did not believe). They got very angry and threatened to take the car back to Texas. I said it was my property and it seemed pointless, but fine, go ahead. When they saw that that wasn't going to intimidate me, they threatened to call the police. I said they could also do that, though this was clearly a business dispute and the police would be unable to do anything about it. Then, I suggested that I pay a portion of what I owed them ($475) and leave it at that even though they were liable for much more. This wouldn't cover the whole cost of the spoiler but at least would be something. They wouldn't accept this and continued to try to intimidate me by threatening to call the police. Finally, my FATHER had to call Omar and Omar agreed to $475 (sexism!!). I had $380 and needed $5 in change. Omar laughed in my face and refused. Then, after I paid $380 in cash, as he and his colleague walked away they called me several expletives in Spanish. On Monday when the office was open again, my parents called them to complain. The office never followed up with me on my experience nor informed us what they would do about this terrible terrible service.

*Re-posted from our Yelp review. Please, please be careful out there, everyone. Be suspicious and vigilant. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. DO NOT get a QUOTE from them. DO NOT give them any card information. DO NOT believe that you are getting the deal they are selling. We talked with "Ben Richards" in New Jersey, if that's even his real name. We wanted to tow a car from IL to MI, and this man was in NJ, which was not overtly suspicious, but notably odd. He made many overtures, assuring us that everything was safe, legitimate, and properly insured. As he went on, he talked faster and faster. I assumed, at first, that he perhaps had some sort of hyperactive disorder, but he became incredibly suspicious after he told us 3 times to NOT take calls from any other towing companies, telling us that we should not change service, no matter what. After getting off the phone, we double checked everything he said, and after seeing other reviews, we decided we wanted to cancel the tow--this was only 15 minutes after agreeing to the rate "Ben" had given us. We called to cancel, and he IMMEDIATELY hung up on us. If everything else wasn't bad enough, this huge red flag was. We immediately cancelled the debt card number we'd given him, and he did not get one cent. If you are suspicious of this company, we suggest you do the same. Most of the positive reviews of this company are too similar. Other websites that tout it as "5 stars" seem to use boiler plate reviews. 0/5 stars.

HORRIBLE!! DO NOT USE! SHIPPED TO WRONG PORT! I got a quote from them to ship my new truck from a dealership in Texas to Nawiliwili Harbor on the island of Kauai, HI. I agreed to the quote and sent them the down payment. Everything went fine until my truck arrived on a DIFFERENT ISLAND (Oahu - Honolulu Harbor) two weeks ago. The shipping update said "ready for pickup".....HUNDREDS OF MILES AWAY ACROSS AN OCEAN??! Upon calling Stars & Stripes I was told they chose to ship it to Honolulu because it was a "bigger port". I was also told they didn't understand what I was complaining about since they "held up their end of the contract by getting the truck to Hawaii" (WHAT?!) Again....hundreds of miles away across an ocean!? Mind you, I was very clear from the beginning what port I needed it shipped to. That was part of the original quote. Now, given the opportunity to fix the problem and get my truck to me on the next Young Brothers ship they are refusing. They said they "don't have the money for it" ($400). Now I have to wait a whole extra week in addition to the two weeks It's just been sitting at the wrong port. Too bad they don't see the value of using $400 to make an upset customer happy.
