The incompetence and carelessness of the staff at TLC caused an elderly family member of mine severe pain. It was completely unacceptable. Our healthcare provider had arranged for my elderly family member to be picked up by gurney in a non-emergency ambulance for two medical appointments: one in the morning, one in the early afternoon. The morning appointment went smoothly. But the afternoon pickup was a disaster. Five minutes after TLC was supposed to arrive, a woman with a British accent called to ask if that appointment was a double booking. When I indicated it was not, she asked if it was an appointment that could wait till the following day. It was completely absurd. I told her the appointment could not wait. She then informed me that they did not have an ambulance for us. In fact, they could not pick up until 1.5-2 hours after originally scheduled because somebody at their office screwed up the scheduling and there wasn't an ambulance available at the time promised. Mind you, we are not talking about re-scheduling an Uber or a Lyft. Our healthcare provider arranged for pickup by TLC precisely because the patient needed a gurney. You can't just hail an ambulance off the street if the one that was supposed to come doesn't show up. The treatment my family member underwent in the morning also had the potential to create a vast amount of discomfort. This is why an appointment was scheduled in the early afternoon on the same day to quickly address any issues right away. When discomfort did result for my family member, it could not be addressed promptly even though we had a pre-existing appointment. We had to wait for TLC, and the afternoon appointment had to be postponed. My family member went from feeling discomfort to severe pain. We almost called 911 because there was no other option for getting an ambulance. Ultimately, we did not, because there likely would have been a comparable wait at the ER due to the competing needs of other patients seeking emergency care. My family member is an elderly man with chronic illnesses. TLC was directly responsible for the severe pain he suffered. During those 1.5-2 hours that TLC delayed his treatment, he was in tears screaming from pain. Whoever that screwed up the scheduling at TLC should not be able to sleep at night. The TLC staff with a British accent apologized profusely and acknowledged it was 100% their fault, and she indicated that she arranged for pickup as soon as possible. In hindsight, I don’t buy her story. We had an appointment, as did another patient. She gave preference to that patient, who needed dialysis, and she made us wait. She didn't ask about the seriousness of my family member's needs and assumed they were less pressing. In fact, her question of whether our appointment could wait till the following day showed that she assumed far too much. In the end, my family member received the treatment he needed to alleviate his pain. But TLC inflicted on our family a massive amount of emotional distress and totally unnecessary pain and suffering on the patient. We have encountered very courteous and helpful staff who do pickup and drop off, and this is not their fault. But there is absolutely no reason why a company that offers ambulance pickup for patients who are very sick should ever screw up like this. The management of TLC should be ashamed. The staffer responsible for the scheduling screwup needs to be held accountable.

One star is too many for this company! Experienced the absolute nastiest, rudest, unpleasant person EVER today while dropping my stroke patient father off at Pine Creek Care Center. Was told by PCCC staff to park in the entry, the orderly with the wheelchair will be out to assist. The TLC employees hit my car with the gurney, didn't say anything. I stated, you hit my car. The one employee told me you shouldn't be parked there, then told me to shut up, I'm not talking to you. I explained I was told to park there per the facility, even his coworker told him to stop and he just kept yelling. Horrible staff member that needs a different job with no contact with people, especially in high stress situations. This person is transporting your loved ones, can only imagine how horribly he treats them!! Occurred mid afternoon, 7.19.22, PCCC Roseville.

They can't make there pickup time. I had to waited 1 1/2 hrs after my pickup time for them to show, but then the driver walk right by me and walk around the hospital for 15 mins. before coming back to the truck. Kaiser Hosp. 07/06/2017
