When we contracted with United, we told them of the likelihood of needing storage for a period of time. We were assured that would not be a problem, that we only needed to let them know the exact delivery date and everything would be delivered on that date. When the furniture was delivered, the driver eventually told us that not all of our goods were on the truck. Even though everything was packed into one truck originally, United decided to divide our goods and deliver them in two shipments with no specified date for the balance of our goods. This was never mentioned as a possibility. It took about two weeks before they finally delivered the rest of our goods. When our goods did arrive, there were many crushed and damaged boxes. Wood table ends were damaged and scratched. The first item off the truck - a Fisher Price Play Kitchen was cracked and broken. This shows very poor handling, with little or no respect and consideration for our property. The second delivery was only a driver. He had to move everything himself. If anything was too large or heavy, he just had to do the best he could moving the items. No mats, runners, or floor coverings were put down to protect our floors, carpets, and walls for the second delivery. Aside from not keeping us informed of what to expect, they never mentioned the possibility of two separate shipping dates. Their attitude was one of “this is the way it will be”. Not knowing what was happening, and the condition of our property when it arrived, just added unnecessary stress and aggravation. I would certainly never use this carrier again.

After five previous moves, we were looking forward to a smooth transition to our forever home. We chose United Van Lines, expecting the best coverage and a hassle-free experience. Our quote was $6,061.11 for a move from ******** to ********. However, the issues began when we struggled to secure a moving date. Despite numerous inquiries, we were only informed on February 5th that our belongings would be delivered the next day, coinciding with our house closing. The mover informed us that he "wanted to go home" and would not change the date. So we informed the movers we would be done with the closing by the afternoon. This is when the movers told us they would only be able to delivery our belongings on the morning of February 6th and not in the afternoon. We were surprised by this as we are aware of United Van Lines' Delivery Date Guarantee policy. We were under the impression our belongings had a guaranteed delivery on the date that was provided to us, February 6th. With a lot of back and forth between the movers and closing office, neither would budge on the timeframe. The movers told us if our belonging could not be delivered at the house by 8am on Feb 6th we would have to get a storage unit. So we had to pay an additional cost to rent a storage unit and pay for a different local moving company to move our belongings out of the storage unit and to our home later that day, which cost $1500. We have had nothing but issues since our move, we have several items that are broken and can't be repaired, only replaced. Also, several items were taken apart by the movers, and we still cannot find the pieces to those items after 5 months of searching. We only requested a refund for the furniture that was unrepairable and were given just $69 despite the furniture being worth over $1000 and is still having to buy replacement parts for the pieces that are missing. This experience was awful, we feel cheated and lied to. This is by far the worst moving experience we have ever had. **UPDATE** The reply from the owner is just the normal customer service number for United Van lines. Please don't reply to make it seem the company actually is making an effort to help when it is not. You could have easily asked for my phone number, email or United Van line order number to truly assist, and you did not. Calling that number will only get you to the usual customer service rep who will have no ideal what you're talking about and send you through the same old call loop to pass you around until you either hang up or someone tell you they can't and won't help you and then you hang up.

Art Jovanes and his team were FANTASTIC to work with! We moved from Illinois to Kentucky and were pretty stressed about it. We never wondered where our furniture or other things were, they were friendly and easy to ask questions of. We would use them again, just dont want to move again in a long time! Thank you so much!

Run away. Fast. Long story short I moved across the country. My property was completely damaged and as if that wasn’t bad enough it was also delayed. A picture is worth a thousand words right? Please check mine out. I would never ever use this company again. I would not recommend United Van Lines to anyone. They damaged over $3000 worth of my property. They offered a settlement of less than $300. This company is a joke. Save your money and your property. Go with someone else.
