I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Safe Ship! They gave the lowest estimate of all the competition. The crew was friendly, and they came on time during the window that I was given. I had absolutely no hiccups and would definitely recommend them to anyone making a local or cross-country move. I can’t lie, I was skeptical based on the other reviews. But I made sure my inventory was precise and my movers didn’t have to get items upstairs. But my move went smoothly. They really calmed my anxiety that comes with making a cross-country move. Thanks Safe Ship for handling my move with care. One of the movers even fixed my broken door knob :)

My belongings was picked up on 23 July 24. From there they were stored for a month, which company didn't tell me at the time of pickup Items were delivered last night at 7:00. That is wheb they demanded the money. I had told them I had a credit card to pay with. Last night they wanted cash. Bank s are closed. Anywhere to get cash are closed. They said they were going to leave with my belongings. After Alex yelled at my daughter about payment details, they started unloading. I had one small antique end table that the leg was broken off. My sofa is missing one cushion and it has a hole in another cushion that looks like a mouse had chewed it. I am warning, if you know this is a company handling your furnishings is DONT

TLDR: Worst moving experience ever! Express Van Line shows up at my house for a move. Mind you I didnt contract them directly. First National Van Lines contracted my move out to EVL. First National gives me a correct quote based on cubic feet volume. Now here is the problem. EVL shows up on the day of move, and they claim I have over 200CF of stuff more than the original quote, which is where the scam starts. I was qouted for 555CF and EVL says its 750CF (which would be 45% of the 26' box truck capacity, photo attached shows barely 1/4 filled) They show up and tell you that they're going to do an inventory count to make sure nothing is lost and they place all your items on your driveway. Once it is all out there, thats when they hit you with the bogus upcharge of close to $2,000 more than the original quote. As it's moving day we had no choice to begrudgingly agree. I've made a chargeback with my credit card company, filed a BBB complaint as well with the Federal Trade Comission for FRAUD. It's their M.O. to steal from customers. On top of that they have poor moving practices, damages an expensive kamado. He hires people that have no idea what they're doing.

Like everyone else said, large upcharge last minute way beyond when we could reconsider or change to another company. Damaged property upon receiving our items with no responsibility or reconciliation. At one point the head guy, Alex, was literally yelling at and arguing with my wife over the phone. No respect for customers or their belongings. Literally pick any other company and if you use a company that contracts, make sure they don’t sub out to these guys. We used SafeShip who also took no responsibility for the horrendous experience we received from their sub contractor. You’re better off using PODS.

There seems to be a pattern in these reviews. Either great or horrible. Our experience was a notch above horrible, but it was far from good. We, too, had problems with Express trying to raise the cost of our move substantially. But, I’m not sure if Express was the problem or Tower Moving. See comments below…. We recently contracted with Tower Moving and Storage for an interstate move. Tower subsequently farmed the work out to Express Van Line based out of Las Vegas. I'll skip 95% of the detail to focus on one problem. When our household contents were received, aside from some broken furniture legs, and other damage that can happen in a move, two wardrobe boxes of men's clothes were found to be thrown in without the use of a crossbar resulting in NONE of the clothes being wearable because of excessive wrinkling. The owner of the goods contacted the dispatcher, Alex, who advised there was nothing they could do because it wasn't "damage". Legally, they are likely covered. From a reputation perspective, what was done by the packer was clearly wrong and the owner of the goods should not be financially penalized for carelessness made by that packer. The owner was not demanding the clothing be dry cleaned/laundered. He simply asked if someone could steam the clothes to remove the wrinkles so they could be worn. Express Van LIne says "no". Poor business decision, and when the other problems not even discussed here are put into play, I would encourage no one to ever contract with this company, directly or indirectly. Putting all the issues together (not time to do here) shows they just don't care. Don't forget I left out 95% of the problems to focus on this one.
