I catch the amtrak into work everyday. Train cars are spacious, clean, and plenty of room to work. The restaurant car is great and the views are breathtaking.

I give it a 4 star only since it’s open air and I don’t find facilities like public toilet. If you don’t need these items, it’s a 5 star for me. I am here to take the train. These phots show the status as of August 5, 2023. Safe trips!

Really like this Amtrak station it’s a good parking next to Levi stadium and in general Amtrak trains come and leave on time. I have to put in the world for our conductor. Ted Peters. He was amazing. He really did an excellent job and went and reminded everyone when they station is coming up, always active going up and down the train checking everything is a role model an example of what a train conductor should be.

This was the worst experience of my life, My wife and I have always wanted to go on a train trip up the west coast, Booked our trip specifically being told them I want a cabin with space as my wife and I are older and want a luxury trip. from the get go this was a poor excuse, not only where we told to be there 45 minutes ahead of departure, but then the train itself was three hours late. Upon boarding our luxury cabin amounted to two coffins stacked on top of each other. Now my wife and I both have physical issues, so either of us sleeping on the top bunk in this "cabin" was going to be dicey to begin with. But as I have a bust knee and can do stability very well my wife tried. Which resulted when she was getting down in the middle of the night and the train suddenly stopped, to fall and break two of her toes. Upon summoning help we where told that they do not have medical personnel and they can not do any thing. We had EMTs called to make sure she was ok other than the two broken toes, which EMTs confirmed and stated that all that would be done is splinting and good luck. Threw this all when asked who we could speak too to correct the issues, we where told we had to call the 1800amtrak hot line, which was closed at the time of night and was closed due to the holiday And we found out while talking to other passenger they where sold the same bill of goods and shoved into these coffin cabins for more then it would cost to fly first class for four from sf to Seattle We will never be using this service again, and people wonder why the American rail system has been slowly dying

I usually find the directions on Google maps to be pretty good. However, the directions to the Santa Clara Great America Amtrak Station are just terrible!!! They direct you down Lafeyette Street and drop you off in the middle of the street. Unfortunately, you cannot get to the train station from there. You can actually only get to the train station from Tasman. So, you have to drive an additional 5 miles to get there. If we had not left extra time, we could have missed the train!
