I used McKendree Moving & Storage for a residential move within the state. From the beginning I was reassured as the estimate was completed in person with Matt who then followed up with several calls to explain insurance and other questions I had. The owner John also confirmed prior to the move. On moving day, the 3 movers contacted me with their ETA, were very professional, prepared the furniture and moved quickly. At the new place they had to deal with an elevator and a walk to my end unit condo. They helped me place the area rugs and furniture and then assembled Ikea shelving making sure they did it correctly. Javon, Jamal, and Matthias accomplished that at the end of a long day while still being polite and positive!

My experience with this company was horrible. Promised to delivered furniture on one day, then lied and said we never had a discussion of the date promised. Furniture was broken and damaged. Not enough movers when my furniture was delivered and it was delivered damaged. I would never recommend this moving company to any. Paid top dollar, but received poor service. They don’t take any care of handling your furniture. See pictures…

I cannot speak highly enough of McKendree Moving & Storage. Matt came and did a walk through of my place and provided some good packing/moving knowledge and tips in preparation for the movers. He provided a reasonable estimate and I worked with his staff to set up a convenient time for my move. The two movers came equipped and wrapped up all the items carefully and quickly. It took ~2.5 hours to get everything packed and in the truck (and the movers were patient as my building elevator got stuck and delayed us a bit). They were able to unpack things quickly into my storage unit in another part of DC. I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them given the ease of using their services, great attitude (Matt and his team), and the care they put into making sure my stuff was carefully wrapped to avoid damage. Thank you!

This is the second time I am using McKendree's services, and I definitely recommend them. The team was very professional and careful with my move. Both times, I had a 3-floor house moved in two days (1 for packing, another to move and setting up furniture), with things carefully wrapped and nothing was broken.

Wow I can't say enough about this company!! They were professional and very accommodating from the beginning. We weren't able to give much notice but they were able to move some things around and squeeze us in on a day they were booked for. We were told they would shoot for between 2 and 3 pm. The day before our move, we were exhausted and not prepared. We called McKendree and asked if they could add another guy, because we were not even close to being prepared enough for the movers to come. The owner was so kind and said he could send his nephew (who was working for money for college during the summer) to our house in the morning to help gets us packed. His nephew showed up at 8 am. He definitely had his work cut out for him. What a respectful kind and efficient worker! The movers showed up at 2:15 as promised and worked until almost 11pm. We had some difficult stairs and angles to get around and they maneuvered our furniture delicately with ease. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and they were hard workers. They all went above and beyond for us. We can't say enough about them. You can't go wrong with this company! Thank you to all of Mckendree Moving. We are so happy in our new home. KJ and DJ
