Forge Trust being the custodian of a investment I made with Petro Rock using my IRA money, which investors were defrauded by Petro Rock and now has turned into a bad asset. A class action lawsuit has now been settled with Petro Rock which will take years before investors see a payout. I can’t close the account with Fort Trust because they would send a 1099 to the IRS on which I would have a tax liability. I can’t move the account to a more favorable IRA service that was willing to waive the fees, because I can’t get anybody at Petro Rock to re-title the note. Forge Trust is aware of all this but are unwilling to lower or wave quarterly fees even though they are doing nothing to earn it. They are a terrible company with zero compassion for the investor.

What a hoax!!! We invested in what scheme that the government sued as fraud. They started charging us 400 plus a year for doing nothing. I cancelled the service. They are now trying to charge us over 600 and if any money comes from the investment take that too.

I established a self-directed IRA account with Forge Trust in order to lend money to a relative's business without taking an IRA distribution...nothing like I've ever done before, as a plain vanilla mutual fund investor in all other respects. Recently I wanted to accept conversion of that loan to stock--yikes, how do I do that!--and Marta at Forge Trust provided excellent service helping me through the process, including getting Forge Trust, as the custodian for my IRA, to countersign (electronically) the documents within a day of my request. I have had other IRA Custodians in the past, and NOW I KNOW what a "PROFESSIONAL" one looks like! Horrifically high fees, terrible customer service. They let things sit forever and just don't process them if you have one minor item out of line. You'll never hear from them. Transfer of accounts that don't go through, claim they never received.
