I regret using this company for my move. A friend recommended them. I contacted them and Rick came by my apartment to examine what I’d need moved and give me an estimate. I thought we had agreed on a date 3 weeks in advance and I flexed my work schedule to accommodate. A day before my planned move date, I was informed that they booked overmy date. It’s the busiest time of the year for my job, so I had to rush and stress about the change. I ended up moving half of what the movers were going to move myself. During the move, my wall was scraped in several places that I have to paint, my dresser was chipped and scratched, my couch was torn at the corner, and my bookshelf was scratched (the movers didn’t wrap it in plastic wrap or padding) The estimate I was given was way under (good thing I moved half of it myself). The move took longer than estimated (even with only half the stuff) and my bill resulted in $300 more than quoted. A different friend of my recommended Cardinal Moving, so if you’re looking for movers, maybe check them out instead. UPDATE: from the response, he said it took 15min over the estimated time. That’s after I’d already moved most of my stuff myself. Estimate was $675, the extra 15min must have cost $225 because the final was $901.

Rick and his team were absolutely fantastic! I cannot recommend them enough. They helped move a piano and made it as easy as possible. It took less than hour, the communication was great, the price was great, the transparency was great. I will definitely be using them for future moves.

We used A Local Van for moving from Louisville to New England. From the time that Rick came to do the estimate at my home to the last box that the two movers dropped off on our second floor walk-up (in the rain), it was a great experience. Rick was very patient and took the time to address all my concerns in a timely and polite manner. He also worked with our tight schedule and had his crew come over one day early to pack so we could meet our deadlines. The two crew members that he sent were also excellent. Very careful with our things - one truck load, one thousand miles, zero items broken. When we unpacked everything, it was clear that these pros had taken the time and energy to pack and wrap things carefully. Their prices were extremely fair, and the fact that they did the entire move themselves and did not sub-contract out to national carrier lines, made the expense worth it. I highly recommend this company and would use them again in the future if I could!
