I can't recommend American Moving and Hauling enough! They recently helped us move into our new office building, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. The team was professional, efficient, and incredibly friendly. They handled all of our equipment with care and made sure everything was set up just how we wanted it. They tackled flights of stairs without missing a beat, all while keeping the mood light with jokes and positive energy. Their attention to detail and positive attitude made the whole process so much smoother than we anticipated. If you're looking for a reliable moving company look no further! American Moving and Hauling is the way to go!

Beware! My experience with American Movers is that they are negligent, dishonest, and unethical. I'm slightly editing my original response to clarify a few issues they raised in their response where they tried to blame me for the damage they did! I'd used them for a previous move without issue (and even mistakenly recommended to others), and I trusted them to move many fragile, historic items I'd spent years collecting and could not move myself due to a stroke. They bragged about that first job in their response when they've cheated me in the second. What a slimy and disloyal business they are. Their first crew begged me to give them a positive Google review, making me wonder about the 4.8 they brag about. Based on my experience with them, they'd do anything. When they arrived at my new address on this move, their driving was so reckless that they nearly turned their truck over in the driveway, unloaded items randomly, and left us with an unorganized mess to go through. As we went through these boxes, we discovered about 30 items not just damaged but many completely destroyed and 15 damaged pieces of furniture. I'd paid for $40,000 worth of replacement coverage, and they assured me they would take full responsibility. They paid to repair the furniture, which I suspect was only because of an informal complaint l made with the NC Utilities Commission. To show how deceptive AM is, in their response, they apparently wanted me to give them credit for a woodworker who does not work for them and whose office told me AM is a new client. The woodworker is among the best, but that's likely because the utilities commission was tracking this, not AM's benevolence. AM has done everything they can to avoid taking any responsibility for damage to my other property, replacing a couple of lost or stolen items, and paying for repair. The pictures speak for themselves and have an estimated replacement value loss of nearly $6000, well below the coverage I paid for, but in their outright greed, they have avoided settling this claim, probably hoping I'd just give up or go away. They started by delay, turning this claim to a "third party," Focus Moving Solutions out of Illinois, which has almost no business profile. I sent Focus a claim form along with pictures and a detailed inventory. American Movers also sent a manager (who acknowledged they either fired or reassigned the crew that did all this) to take photos. I was told by Focus that they had everything they needed. I offered to provide additional information if needed but was told that wasn't necessary. Apparently, AM had no intention of paying for anything. My opinion is that Focus Moving is nothing but a scam as they have refused to provide any information. When pressed on why this was taking months, AM finally wrote that my inventory didn't match the items damaged. Then they claimed they hadn't packed items (even though they charged for a 5-person crew to work half a day) because I had some boxes in storage, which they didn't pack. AM's handling was so obviously careless that it really shouldn't matter who packed what. But now I see why they delayed my claim, to muddy the waters between anything previously packed vs. what they packed. For them to now say they didn't pack pottery is untrue. Finally, they had the audacity to write that I'd never submitted a claim to Focus, and I was difficult for Focus to reach, untrue, which emails disprove. They've never tried to make me "happy," I've tried numerous times to speak with the owner, Amy Cushman Jah, but she has refused to speak with me and negotiate or apologize. She insulted me by writing they'd give me $50 out of all the damage and loss if I'd send them a claim form and after I forwarded this, I still haven't even received this piddly amount. They all knew I had a stroke and have taken advantage of me. What a nasty business with no socially progressive ethic principles, that's hypocrisy. Finally, they can keep their sarcastic advice for me to take a deep breath, and I'll give you some: don't do business with this disgusting group.

If there was a way to leave a 100 star rating I would! I can't say enough about the professionalism and care this company bestowed on us when they moved our office to its new location. Every member of the moving team came up to me and introduced themselves and shook my hand when they arrived. They asked us all day what else they could do to make the move easier, if the location of the items was appropriate, what else they could put together for us etc. The new location was up 3 flights of stairs and not one time did anyone complain or even slow down! The whole day they laughed and joked with us and each other as they worked. They made a potentially stressful day down right enjoyable! After all that hard work I sat down with the team leader to go over the paperwork and write a check and that's when I got the biggest shock of the day ... IT WAS LESS EXPENSIVE THAN THE QUOTE I HAD RECEIVED! The movers had done all that work in less time than anticipated and I received a smaller invoice because of their skill and hard work! I will NEVER call another moving company. They have won my loyalty for life!”

American Moving did a great job doing a large move in a single day. Communication from the crew was great and they took great care to carefully protect our furniture and artwork. Their estimate was fair and accurate. If you're moving to or from the Winston-Salem, NC area I highly recommended reaching out to them.

Wonderful experience with American Moving & Hauling! Customer service was exemplary, the 3-man crew were all polite, professional & accommodating. They moved some large items from a home to a storage unit and carefully packed the items in the storage unit to make the most of our space. Cost was very competitive and final bill transparent. No hidden fees or unexpected add-ons. Will use again and recommend to others! Thank y'all!
