Carefree Movers was subcontracted by Atlantic Movers in August 2022 to move my furnishings from Phoenix, Arizona to Ohio. I signed a binding estimate contract with Atlantic Movers and the day of my move, someone from Carefree Movers called me stating that they would be moving me and I had to pay more money if I wanted to move that day. Having had sold my home and having to be out of the home that day, I had no choice in this matter. I had to move. I am a senior citizen and Carefree Movers charged me almost $4000.00 more to move. It was what I thought extreme, but as I stated earlier, I had no choice. The gentleman I spoke with said I had more inventory, which I didn't. I was told my furnishings would fill the moving truck and I have pictures that it didn't. And the mover told me that he had another pick up after mine. I have been working with the FMCSA and the BBB. They told me no one has contacted them regarding this complaint. A binding estimate is a fixed cost. That's all I was suppose to pay. The bad part is that i can't give zero rating and this company is a disaster. They represent everything that is wrong with using a sub-contractor for a move. Believe the negative reviews. Don't trust them. Their contracts are full of loopholes and they will quote cheap price for the move but later after the pickup you will get to know the real price the price will have a increase by 50% at least for sure even you have the same items on the inventory. They WILL lie and find a way to jack up your price. The WILL be late. They WILL NOT deliver on schedule. They WILL be difficult to communicate with. They WILL deliver your boxes crushed and each box will require inspection and they will not assemble your furniture by saying that they forgot the tool kit and some one will come later to assemble where no body shows up. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Please avoid moving with this company. The best part here is they show up on time for pick up that is the least they can do and your furniture will loaded/unloaded in different ware houses which leads to more damage to your luggage/items.

A long story. I was scammed by them and it's still not over yet. A little piece of the story: I thought they were the moving company. Turned out the are brokers. They hired a moving company to move my furniture and didn't get a call from them until the day I had to be out of my home and was charged about $5000 more then their binding estimate. Had to give them $4000 more then what I already deposited if I wanted to move out that day. Which I had to seeing the new owner was moving in same day. Total mess! I can't understand how some people can say they had a great moving experience with this company. They don't do the moving. They are a broker. They hire moving companies to move people. So, I'm thinking these are false reviews.

Hate to do this, but if you don't want to stress about your move, you can find a better. Here is an honest review for you. Check the pictures and see what kind of white glove services this BROKER (not moving company is) there is more but this is how your items will be treated and missing few thing that I am filling a claim for.

This was a truly amazing and moving experience. I didn't expect more from a moving company, to be honest. I felt very at ease dealing with them from the time I picked up the phone to speak to them until the movers entered my home. They are polite, respectful, courteous, timely, and professional. After receiving numerous quotes, I decided on Atlantic Moving because they stood out and made me feel comfortable. These guys offer a good value that is well worth your money. I never once had to worry about giving them my belongings or even lift a finger. I've already referred them to all of my family and friends, and I will do so again.
