Baylor Trucking is a great company. The welcome you get from Baylor and that red carpet, that's top notch IMO. The drive through trailer maintenance is great, The shop repairs your truck the first time, no going in for the same problem. Everyone has different experience with the shops. I drove for Baylor 2 years ago, I never did want to leave but I was forced to take health tests while on the road to make sure I was fit for the road. Between the stress I caused for myself at Baylor, my depression and just being out of shape physically and I was forced again to take more tests at home, it was going to be at least a month before I could take those tests. I was forced to turn my keys in. I hated that!! being that I was at home at the time, I'm not sure if they issued truck abandonment. You could probably eat off the floor. The truck was clean and shining. I miss the road. Overall, the high stress and being physically out of shape got the best of me. I'm physically much better, I lost close to 40 lbs. my depression is much better.

This company is a joke. There is no communication anywhere within the company . Dispatch is a joke. Pay is terrible. My husband has been with this company for 3 months and has to fight to get his extra pay he is owed. He sat for 6 hours one day and 7 hours the next day last week and never got paid. Another driver took his load and dropped it instead of switching out and he didn't get paid for miles stolen from him. Nobody knows what is going on. He worked a week straight and pay was under 1200.00. He was hired for regional to be home on weekends and he discussed this before he was hired but nobody seems to understand regional and nobody was told even though they agreed to that and hired him. I would not recommend this company to anyone. They don't expect them to sleep, eat, or go to the bathroom or shower. Dispatch can't read a map or calculate distance with drive time/clock. Just a joke of a company.

Since this popped up on google ill give a review. ZERO STARS I see other people have had similar experiences. BULLET DODGE. BE THANKFUL Even how they respond back to the reviews is classless and everyone who gives a negative review is the problem lol. It's never the company. No accountability. Pay attention to all these things when searching for a company. I was told on the last day of orientation (After I passed my road test) that they were sending me home because i was on my phone during class. I was the only person in class that held a TWIC card and had hazmat on my license. Therefore i had paperwork electronically to fill out and the rest of the class only had paper packets. This was sent via email by the slender lady that handles orientation (DURING ORIENTATION). The older gentleman with the cane told me they were sending me home. He would take me to the airport and a rental car was waiting. Once i got to the airport all the cars were already lended out so i was stranded. I called him a couple times and he didn't answer so i had to reach out to dispatch and they were clueless as to what was going on. Totally understandable. Eventually got back in touch with the older gentleman and he said someone eles would book me another car and that he was about to be in a meeting so don't bother calling again. If there is a problem during class address it then. Don't string someone along. If you're going to send someone home don't wait until the last day. Drivers when you go off make sure you have enough funds for last minute flights. A flight home was 900 bucks because i live in a rural area with no major airport. I say all this to say God always has a ram in the bush. I was so damn mad and hurt not realizing something better was in store. I found another company that is so good to me i wish i would've started with the company right after i got my CDL. Blessings to all!

After refusing a load to a place where I felt unsafe due to some disturbing reviews by other drivers, and a Facebook page that showed that place to be a racially hostile environment, I was told by the manger of Baylor that I had to agree to take any load anywhere, regardless of if I was in fear for my life or if even it it was a SUNDOWN town (I am african american). I asked him about Vidor, Texas which is a known place that truckers of color should not go, and he said that if disptched a load there, then I would be required to take it there regardless of if I felt safe or not. I couldn't believe the way he was communicating with me as this had been cleared with my dispatcher previously who didn't have a problem with my decision. I was in shock and he did not care. I asked him if he knew the history of sundown towns and what people had been through in those places. Instead of answering me, he told that he could show me a picture of his black boyfriend. WHAT DOES HIS BLACK BOYFRIEND HAVE TO DO WITH MY SAFETY??? I guess that was his way of trying to tell me he was not racist which had nothing to do with the conversation. He was cold and nasty in his tone and did not budge on his stance. When I refused to agree to those terms, he told me that he is taking my response as my resignation. I told him that if this how they felt and treated people, then I didn't want to be there. Disturbing. I really liked the other staff at Baylor for the most part and never really had any huge issue until that meeting. Any company who does not care about the safety and wellbeing of ALL of their driver's, should be carefully considered. I wasn't going to say anything, but I needed to let other people know what could potentially happen if you decide to come here. Unfortunate because I had not planned to leave that company for a while.

Its an ok place to work office staff and shop staff are friendly The shop staff do a good job keeping the older trailers repaired if the drivers will just let them know there is a problem. Trucks are updated and newer. Reason I left was started out as an OTR driver ran long/regional runs at first but then I started running short and local runs. They run alot of Amazon/UPS freight, loads are tight on time and you normally start up at between 1100/ 1300 and will make delivery between 1900 and 2400. Would be a great gig if you always had a place to shutdown when you are done for the night. Truck parking is a big issue that time of night.
