I had a kidney transplant in January 2024, everything was smooth, the staff, doctors and nurses were fantastic. Overall, couldn't have asked for a better situation and outcome.

Had a kidney transplant a few months ago. The nurses in hospital are fantastic. Too much detail to go into here, but the surgeon and or team, screwed a couple of things up during the surgery, which caused incredible recovery pain, and even a portion of the kidney to die off from a collapsed blood supply vein that was not properly connected. If the Transplant center asks you to contact them and tells you you have an emergency situation due to labs, no one calls back. And when they prescribe a prescription on an emergency basis, it takes them a full seven days to actually contact the pharmacy and provide the full prescription, and this is with me calling them multiple times daily and the pharmacy as well. When you contact them on an issue they have told me is urgent, you never ever can speak to anyone except the receptionist, who tells you, someone will call within the next 30 minutes, and no one ever does.

I recently had a kidney transplant and the team of nurses and doctors were completely professional and helpful. They checked in one me every couple of hours and encouraged me to keep moving instead of laying in my bed all day (even though the simple act of getting out of bed hurt like hell for the first week). I was skeptical at first because of my previous experienced with Kaiser, where they try to get out the door as soon as possible... but I'm glad the transplant team at UCD proved me wrong about that. Shoutout to Amanda and Andrea, the main nurses that would check up on me. And to Dr. Perez who did the actual transplant procedure.

Amazing team!!! I was a kidney donor for a friend it has been such an awesome experience. The team took such good care of both of us and continue to do so. I got to save a life for someone who 10 years ago saved and changed my life forever!!!
