STEALING, LYING, EXPENSIVE and LATE all things to expect with Big Ben's Moving and Storage! As a past customer of Big Bens this is the most morally misguided company I've ever dealt with. Stolen items, horrible communication, changed rates and two days late for my pickup window. This company will abuse you because they know your hands are tied! Big Bens is not a full service moving company they contract out your work and you'll be dealing with headache after headache and unprofessional contractors. Big Bens can be summarized as an organization of thieves. It looks like the reviews were so bad that the company had to refresh it's google listing, but because I had such a bad experience I make sure to check back every once and a while and let consumers know that this company does nothing but make your life worse. Additionally, if google is planning on deleting this review please reach out to me and I will be happy to provide any documentation proving I was a past customer. People deserve to know what these crooks are doing.

It was treble experience! Movers was late and super rude. Before they even saw our stuff, they told us that we have to pay 1000$ more or they are not going to touch it! We didn’t have a choice because it was our last day to move out! We waited to get our stuff back almost one month, contact with the movers agency was terrible! The boxes arrived damage and some our furniture too. We have to pay movers extra money because they didn’t want to bring our stuff to from the track to our apartment (it was in our agreement). We sent claim with they insurance, on the form was information that we can get money back if they overcharged our moving process but it was another lie! I don’t recommend them. They offer poor service that cost us a lot of money and stress.

The worst moving company I ever worked with. They don’t deserve one star, but there isn’t a “no star” option. They showed up at 8pm instead of 2 pm, which cost me a $1000 move deposit since moves aren’t allowed after 5. I kept calling and no one was able to help. When they had not showed up by 7 I called again, trying to find out what was happening. At 7pm, 5 hours after they should have arrived, the person on the phone threatened to cancel my move and refund my money because she said I “had an attitude.” Even though they were at fault, I had to beg them not to cancel, because I had to be out of the apartment. They arrived and instantly hiked prices by more than $1800 -over $1300 more because they said it was “a long walk from truck to apartment,” and then more charges for “more cubic footage,” even though they had an exact inventory of my belongings and the cost estimate was based on 80 boxes, while I ended up with fewer than 40. Movers refused to follow Covid distancing and use masks, and threatened to leave my stuff on the sidewalk because I would not stand right next to them at the end, while signing papers - they said I was adding time to the move when I walked 6 ft away to read and sign, and they wanted to go home. They were so nasty and threatening that my neighbor, who was in the hall, stepped into my apartment thinking I needed protection. Apparently they are brokers, they didn’t know who would be delivering on the other end of this interstate move. That second company tried to charge me extra fees I’d already paid to Big Ben’s, and held my stuff hostage on their truck until I could get Big Ben’s to call them. A disaster. Don’t use brokers. Don’t hire anyone who doesn’t come look at your apartment in person, and who doesn’t provide a fixed cost. Do not use Big Ben’s. With all their extra last minute charges, and the loss of my $1,000 deposit, the move cost me 50% more than the original quote. Also, note that this company is not the Big Ben’s Moving in Utah. Very confusing, maybe on purpose. ZERO STARS!

If I could give this company 0/5 stars I would. Please do not use this company as they are very mischievous in their practices. When they give you a quote it's like a low end air line, the price looks good but then they slap a million different costs on you as the process goes along. They ruined our mattress by dragging it and ripping the plastic moving cover we had on it. They had a crew sometime during the move take our stuff out and place into a new truck without care to our bikes which are scratched up severely. We lost a tv due to their care. Our grill is dinged up. I could go on and on but please don't waste your time with this company.

My previous review is missing - so they must have updated their Google account to refresh reviews. But do not use this company. They lied about not being brokers. They lost 2 of our boxes, broke numerous pieces of furniture, gave us someone else's furniture, and after applying for a reimbursement I got only 80 bucks back after a long drawn out online form asking for the original purchase receipts from the ruined items. The experience has discouraged me from ever using a moving company again.
