Juan C and Delfiero are THE BEST. That was the best moving experience I could have possibly had. They stayed double the anticipated time because I was so in over my head with the move. My wife and I hired Careful Movers three times: once to unload our moving truck when we moved to California, a second time when we moved from one city to another city in California, and a third time when we moved out of California. I own a 113-yr-old Steinway piano that is notoriously difficult to move (even compared with other pianos). It has a cast-iron frame and the weight distribution is uneven, both top to bottom and front to back. It also has a rounded bottom, which makes it severely difficult to balance while rolling it on a dolly. This is the only moving company which has been able to move this piano with ease. One of the Careful Movers, Enrique, figured out a way to balance the piano on the dolly (using the wheel cups as wedges), and three or four different professional piano movers we had used before him could not figure out how to do this. While previous movers struggled and cursed trying to move it, and constantly had to keep a man or two to hold the piano up, the Careful Movers crew was able to roll it on a dolly as if it was just any old piano. Enrique and his crew fit the piano into a room in our new place that I honestly did not think would be a possibility. I am a little worried that the next moving company we hire (since we are no longer near Careful Movers) will not be as good and won't be able to get it out. There are a few other items we own that were on the difficult side for normal professional moving companies to deal with. Nothing terribly unusual (aside from the piano), but just normal difficult stuff. I think the difference with Careful Movers is that they just look at each piece as a puzzle to solve and come up with a creative way to handle it, and they share their solution with you so that you can have an easier move the next time. That alone is worth something. The quoted estimate was the same as actual cost of each move (no hidden costs). Anthony and his team were great about communicating with me in advance of the move and even fulfilled my request to have the same crew that had moved us before (I only requested this because of the piano), though he was also very clear with me that he couldn't guarantee the same crew. Additionally, they have always been friendly and professional, and this time around were COVID-safe (wearing masks at all times, even though they are doing heavy lifting. There were no scratches or dents in any of our possessions. They always show up on time and are down to business right away. I would recommend these guys to anyone in the the SF Bay area whether you're moving to or away. Especially if you have a piano!

Originally left a one star after the guys showed up nearly two hours after their dispatcher told me they would, and being denied any sort of refund. Anthony gave me a call after and really showed how much he cared about making things right. The guys did a great job, they messed up on scheduling, but they made it right. Lots of respect for that.
