I had lived in my current residence for almost 3 decades and had accumulated belongings from multiple family members and from other moves. Changing places not only organized and found appropriate homes or destinations for my belongings but found treasures that I thought were gone and lost forever. They also gave new life to many possessions that I was able to repurpose or provide to a new home. In addition within a week of my move into my new home we were organized, labeled and comfortably living in our new space and felt stress free in a short amount of time. They also did it with such positive energy and ease that it was very enjoyable to have them around!

Following my wife’s death in early April 2024, I was phased with the difficult decision of moving to a smaller place. We moved into our current house in 2004. Our new house was 5701 square feet which was a major downsizing for us. Our previous house was almost 8,000 square feet. We had also purchased a small Château in the heart of France. We needed all our energy to restore the Château. We sold the French home in 2016 and moved most of its content back to California. I rented an 8oo square foot space and we packed it floor to ceiling. My wife was an avid collector. Among her collections were over 300 dolls, 70 teacups, over 200 pieces of China, over 200 glasses, etc. I thought that the task was gargantuan and would take at least one year. My real estate agent suggested contacting Changing Places. Katie and her associate Andi came, toured the house and the storage room and said they were up to the challenge. They wrote a detailed proposal describing how the team would sort the house contents and affix different colors for items moving with me, items to be sold at auctions or under consignment. The proposal was not cheap, but there was the prospect of recovering some of the costs. I was faced with the daunting task of disposing of over 90% of our belongings. Andi, the project coordinator, assigned a phenomenal team led by Sam at first and Kelly for the later phases. They were my angels. With brilliant methodology and superb teamwork, they attacked the immense task. The storage room was emptied in one day, an impossible feat. Then came the house. The first phase took 3 days. In the dining room 4 tables were set for me to pile items that I did not want to take with me. The second phase took 4 more days. Then 2 days a week later. Two weeks later, all the bulky furniture not sold, was hauled away, leaving the house with only the items which would accompany me to my new small home. The whole project took about 2 months, giving me time to plan and sort items between each phase. To make the process less forbidding, the Changing Place team was the friendliest, most caring, most enjoyable to be with. I owe them a debt that will never be paid. I can honestly say that without Changing Places, my move was impossible. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Changing Places is Amazing. We have worked with them many times as the organizers of our moving jobs. I have to say that everything just runs smoother when they are overseeing the job. They have a wonderful staff. The project managers are very thorough before the jobs begin. Email's, Parking Permits, last minute changes are seamlessly addressed so all involved parties are on the same page. I wish that they were on every job we did. Changing Places is the best. Hands down.
