I don't do this often, but here goes... I wholeheartedly support using Chesapeake Transitions! Marilyn and her team were exceptionally helpful and communicative throughout the entire process. Any question I had, no matter how minor, was answered promptly and professionally. Any request I had, no matter how little it had to do with the actual job, was accepted and (remarkably!) fulfilled, even the seemingly impossible ones. If you have loved ones who need their help or if you, yourself, need their sort of help to get a handle on your loved ones' belongings, I highly recommend you reach out to Chesapeake Transitions. You won't regret it.

We HIGHLY recommend Chesapeake Transitions for all types of Senior Moving Management services. Their personal touch makes the process as comfortable as it can be. We have engaged their team on 2 occasions and recommended them to several others, each experience has been very positive.

I hired this company to pack and unpack my home to move in state. They donated some items and were to sell multiple other items. My contract said I would receive 60% of proceeds. The first check was for 50% but they did apologize and said they recently changed it to 50/50. They did in the end honor the 60%. I asked for a list of what they sold and for how much. The owner told me they don't keep track of what they sell for each client and for how much. I thought that was very unprofessional. While I understand some items don't sell well, I expected much more than what I received for the items sold; I know what items sell for at estate and yard sales. As for the packing I was pleased especially with the mother/daughter team that worked. They were quite diligent. Unfortunately when I moved in to the new home it was difficult to find items and there are new boxes in my garage that say "fragile". I still need to go through those boxes. I expect the items that I can't find are in there. They are supposed to unpack as "move in ready". On another note, the hourly rate was high especially when I see one of the workers chatting on her cell phone for a quite some time. On a positive note, the actually moving company with the trucks and movers, Moyer and Sons, were awesome.

Lacking in management. After moving our neighbor this company was in hosting the estate sale at the house which is directly across the street from ours with a long driveway and plenty of places for their customers to park. However they made no effort at all to control the flow of traffic to the estate sale and our yard subsequently became a parking lot for frenzied black friday deal hunters. Our mailbox was hit and the post smashed in the process with no one around to take responsibility. When my husband got home and made contact with Chesapeake transitions they initially would not take responsibility and said it was like that when they got there. However I'm updating my review because they did call back that night to apologize and they dropped a new mailbox post off the next morning. Its still a little irritating that my husband has to take time out of his weekend to install a new mailbox post but it better than nothing so my review went from from 1 to 4 stars.

When my aunt passed away, my mom was overwhelmed with clearing out her house. Chesapeake Transitions compassionately and professionally helped her sort through and pack a house full of her sister's belongings identifying which to gift, donate and sell. Their patience and professionalism helped my mom deal with a stressful situation after her loss. Can't say enough good things about them.
