By far the best moving company I have ever used. THEY SAVED ME when the container company I had reserved refused to deliver to my location. Since I am moving out of state I had reserved a 27' container to be loaded and then picked up to move out of state. Day of deliver I was told I would need to get a local mover to load up their truck and deliver it to the container location some 40 miles away. I had already reserved Childs Moving Co. to load up my container and then I called Christina with an urgent plea to help me get this stuff to the location. She said in a calming way "don't worry we've got this!" I needed to hear that since I only had 48 hours to leave the house. These people worked so hard (Sam ran the crew professionally and swiftly). When I had too much stuff for one truck the said "no problem." I was able to rent a UHAUL and drive with them to the container drop and they worked until 12 AM loading up the container. Their prices are fair and their service is beyond exceptional. I have other CA moves in my future that I will use them religiously. I cannot recommend them enough. They saved my life.

I scheduled a move with this company, two weeks prior to the day I needed to be out. The night before I received a call confirming the move but stating they would be 2 hours late (12 vs 10am) because they miss calculated the previous days job. I said fine but emphasized I needed to be out that day. 15 minutes after the rescheduled time I received a phone letting me know they would not be there, but they MIGHT be able to reschedule in a week! After I reached out to the owner (grandfather), he said I should try other companies. When I called back to try to get any support I was repeatedly sent to voicemail. My son and I were forced to find day laborers and rent trucks. I’ve never driven a large box truck before. A few of my neighbors came to assist. We finally went to sleep at 230am. Woke up to finish unloading the truck. Bottom line. DO NOT Trust this company with your move! Pay an extra few hundred dollars for piece of mind and reliability.

Excellent movers with wonderful customer service. They were on-time, worked really hard, and treated our furniture carefully. They're an old-school small business with charm, a little hard to find online - but don't let that stop you from hiring them. We hope to never move again but if we do, we will be hiring Child's again!

Unfortunately not a lot of great things to say here. Used this team of 3 for a move across town and had the following issues: - Poor packing skills. The team was unable to fit our 2 BR / 1BTH home into their truck. Leaving multiple trips for myself and partner in our own vehicles to collect the items left behind. Several assets were strapped to the back and underneath the truck making them full of soot by the time the truck arrived - Multiple broken items. Several of our pieces were broken loading into the house. Although the company sent someone to repair, he arrived a week later and didn't complete all repairs before leaving for the day, saying he'd be back in a few hours and never returning or responding to let us know as we were waiting at home for him all night. - Lost items. Bags of hardware were lost in transit, leaving us without a usable bed frame for over a week. When I called to ask that the hardware be replaced, I was told that it is not the company's responsibility and that we need to replace and rebuild the frame they disassembled on our own. - Damage to home. Floor boards, doors all cracked, dirty prints all over our walls. We'll have to pay to get this cleaned as well. I wish this had gone better, moving is already such a stressful event and trusting such a massive life event to a careless company has left us in shambles far longer than anyone should be.
