Can't believe how well everything went. He's an amazing surgeon. Whole process went smooth along with the hip replacement. Even the physical therapists commented on how fast I was recovering. Cannot recommend Dr Miller enough. I would be coming up short.

Dr. Matthew Miller is an extraordinary surgeon who uses his vast experience coupled with the latest medical technologies to perform state of the art knee replacements. I've needed a total left knee replacement (TKR) for some time now but about a month before my surgery, I suddenly could barely walk 100 yds. I went to see Dr. Miller in Jan 2023. He took X-rays and after looking at them for a short period of time he immediately recommended a TKR and explained why (severe bone on bone on the medial side with no hope of natural repair). It was scheduled in March 2023 at the new Stanford Hospital, which is incredible. On the day of surgery, I had to wait about 4 hours in the waiting room before being "taken back" but it is Stanford and this was expected. After getting the call things moved very quickly. Everyone at the hospital was incredible, highly professional, caring, attentive and courteous. Dr. Miller's robotic-assisted surgery took only about an hour and left only a 5 inch scar on my knee - much shorter than many I've seen. I am now just over 3 weeks out, the first two weeks were tough for sure but I never had any problems obtaining pain medication from his office, thanks to his assistant, Clark, who is also great. I was pretty much off all pain meds at about 2 weeks after the surgery, taking a very occasional pain killer here and there. I did have a minor allergic reaction to the dressing or dressing adhesive about 12 days and as it was on a Sunday, I had to go to the ER but they just changed the dressing and it was fine. It was difficult to sleep properly for the first 2-3 weeks too but this was expected and I just watched a lot of YouTube videos. I was walking the same day as the surgery with a walker or cane but lost both walker and cane at about 7 days. There was a lot of swelling as it is a very traumatic procedure but frequent icings and keeping the knee elevated is essential and the swelling slowly receded. They fixed me up with a home care company which gave me an ice machine that was not very efficient so I just used large ice packs 4-6 times a day (not directly on the skin though). At only 25 days after the surgery the knee feels incredibly solid and I feel well on the way to recovery. There's still some swelling especially at the back of the knee where I previously had a large Baker's cyst but the knee is very easy and more or less painless to walk on and feels very natural, it's incredible. There are some very minor "clicks" coming from the knee when I walk but apparently these should go away with time. Thank you so much Dr. Miller, you are truly a phenomenal surgeon, head and shoulders above most if not all in the field, I'm so glad you and your team did my knee surgery.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Miller and his team. I had my hip replaced and did a ton of research before I committed to the procedure. I finally felt comfortable with Dr. Miller and his approach which significantly reduced the recovery time compared to my father’s same procedure which he had done a year ago. My surgery was scheduled for 10:00am and I was cleared to go home by the physical therapist and the doctor by 6:00pm the same day. Yes, I went home the same day for a hip replacement which is awesome! Thank you, Dr. Miller, for a smooth and seamless procedure and recovery which gave my life back to play with my children. By the way, his Physician’s Assistant Grace Choi is awesome!!

Dr. Miller and his staff are awesome. I am a triathlete. I surf, ski , etc. Basically very active. Had a full hip replacement and the surgery was perfect and painless. Walking without assistance within days of surgery and fully back into swimming and biking in 6 weeks with no pain! I'm art 6 months and just started running again and loving it! Highly recommend Dr. Miller and his staff.
