I have been working with Dan Elliott for the past twenty years. I needed roof work on garage due to dry rot, new vent in attic, fixes around the chimney etc. This year I decided to put on a new rood before I retired and Dan and his team did the job. Fast, clean, great workmanship. Very easy to do business with. Highly recommend.

I would certainly not recommend this business to anyone installing a new roof. The brand new roof they installed for me leaked because they did not seal the shingles around the chimney correctly. On top of that, after they admitted this mistake, they did not honor their warranty and asked me to pay them to fix their mistake. Dan Elliott's team installed a new roof on our house that we bought recently (a year and a half ago). They claimed a 10 year warranty. When they installed it, Dan told me that since this is a new roof, when it does rain, we need to watch out for possible leaks. He said if that happens that he would send people over to fix it. This year it rained twice. The first time, my wife noticed some water coming through the paint in the cubby holes in the wall behind the chimney. I went to the attic and noticed water stains on the beams next to the chimney. I called Dan and he said he would send someone over to take a look. Dan mentioned that the water stain may be from a previous leak but I told him about the leak in the cubby holes. The roofer came over and his assessment was that water was coming through the crack in the cement between the bricks in the chimney. He put some epoxy on it and said that I should keep an eye on it. The second time it rained, I asked my main contractor to take a look in the attic. He said that there is a leak. He also said that they did not install the area around the chimney properly. I called Dan again. His repairman came over and finally admitted that the work was not properly done around the chimney by them and that in fact there is a leak. When I called Dan after this he denied that there is a leak and that they did anything wrong. However, he did say he would fix this at cost. I called the repairman after I hung up with Dan and he again said that the area around the chimney needs to be redone. I called Dan again after he had a chance to talk (again?) with his repairman. This time he admitted that they made mistake and that the work around the chimney will have to be redone. He said, he should have caught this the first time when they installed the roof and would have billed me for it. He then said that to be fair he will only charge me the cost of material!! I don't understand how that is fair. First of all there is a leak free warranty for 10 years. Second of all, this is clearly their mistake. The work was not properly done. Lastly, if I hadn't caught this early, there would have been major damage to the roof structure - I am not sure how much damage is there already.

Very poor service. Does not keep appointments and is very hard to reach on phone. Calls are never picked up and messages are seldom responded to. We are having a very hard time with warranty and fixing of ongoing leaks. Shoddy job that lacks skills and expertise. He refuses to fix damages caused by the leaks even though we are in warranty. Will not recommend this business to anyone.

We had a very good experience working with Dan Elliott Roofing. They did a great job for a very good price. Highly recommend.
