Like many of the other reviewers we had a horrible experience with this company. This is a predatory towing company that should not be in business. Please if you need a vehicle towed do not give them your hard earned money because they have stolen from so many people and taken advantage of difficult situations. They stalk parking lots looking for people to tow and then charge exorbitant fees. If you do get towed by them, check West Virginia state law. I printed the towing laws and took them in and asked for a refund. They had to refund part of what we paid because we were charged ILLEGALLY. The conflated the wrecker charges and charged us storage fees that weren't legal. Then the manager gave me grief for turning them into the Attorney General. They are rude and unprofessional and take advantage of people. Just page down through the reviews and it is obvious what kind of business this place is. Please patron another company, one that actually works ethically for their paycheck instead of stealing other peoples hard earned money.

If you have a student that needs car  repair work done , I am going to recommend Doug’s towing and car shop. The owners are absolutely amazing and so empathetic. They truly care about the students but get such a bad rep because they tow cars. We have to keep in mind that they have a job to do as well and contract with Canvas Apartments. I feel so comfortable knowing that this man took the time out to talk to my son and give him good advice about car maintenance. He told my son if he needs anything done as far as car work to come see him personally and recommend other students, and he will give them a good deal. They do have some bad reviews on their website regarding their customer service and towing issues but everyone’s situation is different. You got to show respect in order to get respect back even when stressful event is occurring. I personally met the owners today and was very appreciative that they looked out for my son.

I'm from Pennsylvania and was traveling back from Ohio with my wife and service dog. I had a blowout and my insurance company dispatched Doug's. After over 2 hours they were a no show and wouldn't answer my calls or my insurance company's calls. My insurance company then called Mike's towing. Their driver John called me within 2 minutes and was at my location in 20 minutes. He not only towed my vehicle to Sam's club (which was now closed because Doug's never showed) for new tires, but also dropped us (me, wife AND service dog) off at the hotel we had to stay at BECAUSE DOUG'S NEVER SHOWED! He wouldn't even take a tip. If you need a tow, don't waste your time with Doug's. Call Mike's towing instead.

My apartment complex recently switched towing companies, but I had no idea until my girlfriend's car disappeared one night. We found out it was towed by Doug's Towing. We figured they could at least give a warning, first! We get to the office to pay off a scammer-sized bill for TWO BUSINESS DAYS (towed on Saturday, our best shot was Tuesday), we ask a lot of educational questions, but most of the answers were shrugs, nitpicks on details, and "Not my business." I bring up that my roommate was recently towed, I'm asked a few questions, but they avoided accountability on that (my roommate told them to keep it, not paying $700). I also learned to pay close attention to the environment, for they have a sign not in line-of-sight that DON'T accept credit card, CASH ONLY! While I went to get cash from a nearby ATM (local hot dog place close by), I would find out the front desk lady got more condescending towards my girlfriend about her "life choices" and that she "can do better" than me. Lady, stay in your lane instead of giving life and relationship advice. If you're gonna judge someone by their appearance, then go ahead and be trailer trash! They showed indifference, greed, and overall trashy personalities. As my roommate and my girlfriend said, they illegally take cars and hold them for ransom and refuse to give any warning before doing so! I'll never trust those leeches (girlfriend's words) for any services.

Unlawfully tows cars and on top of that is known to damage them in the process. Flat Tires and scrapes are most common, that’s not even mentioning they are overpriced. Don’t do business with them. Most of the reviews are positive towards “Doug” but from what I understand he doesn’t own it anymore.
