Moving is never easy and almost never fun. And the older you get, the harder it is because in addition to acquiring more stuff, you’ve also likely acquired expensive furniture and furnishings that hold a special place on your heart irrespective of the price tag. I’ve spent the last 20 years traveling all around the world, and have had some very special items, both large and small, sent home. Lamps from Africa, cupboards from India, items that not only represent my adventurous side, but that have grown to be synonymous with the meaning of home. So when it came to time to trust a mover with my treasured possessions, I chose Elate Movers because they understand and appreciate both the intrinsic and emotional value of the things I hold so dear. I just used them for the second time and my fantastic foreman (George) and his incredible crew did such a wonderful job. I watched everyone of them admire my furniture and treat it like it belonged to them. The additional cost of painstakingly wrapping each item isn’t cheap, though they are more reasonable than most, but I promise you it is worth every penny. They don’t just wrap for the sake of wrapping; they wrap to protect and boy do they do a good job. They were such a great team, anticipating every move of the other, spotting each other along the way when needed. I had two trucks and six guys, and the move took 12 hours. I have some very large and very heavy pieces of furniture, and they treated my things like I was royalty. Never a nasty word or look, friendly to my 8 pound dog who kept getting in their way, and only wanting to make sure o was comfortable and happy with the job they were doing with each and every step. and not one scratch!! Not one! When my oversized couch couldn’t fit through the door of my new place, they took the door off. They covered the walls without my even asking, made sure not to scrape against the ceiling, and took such great care to make everything perfect. And it was. Big thank you to George, Nikki, Gino and the rest of the amazing crew at Elate. I strongly recommend them to move anything and everything you love. They are priced better than most in their league, and they are simply the best, hands down.
