DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
I attempted to book a local move with this company, the first problem: they give your moving contract to a partner company called American Moving Service. If you google or yelp American Moving Service Ellicott City, MD you will see your first warning sign: only a 1.5 star rating with several reviews written about how awful American Moving is. Ellicott City movers did not in any way inform me that my moving contract would be given to a partner company so I was confused when American Moving Service called me to verify my scheduled move.
So the day of the move comes and I call the company to pay for my move over the phone which Ellicott City Movers stated I would be able to do. American Moving Service refused payment over the phone and continued to come up with lies as to why they could not take my card over the phone. I then asked American Moving Service to confirm the cost that was quoted to me by Ellicott City Movers and now suddenly it was several hundred dollars more than my quote originally was. The explanation? it was for "fees" and 'travel" which by the way I was never told about.
I asked to speak with a manager which they said none were available. I then asked for an alternative contact number to reach a manager and I was given a number that did even connect to a voicemail. The more I tried to discuss my issue regarding the cost of the move with American Moving Service the ruder the secretary became.
Ultimately I cancelled the move and found an alternative company to use but my advice is this: DO NOT use this company or American Moving Services, they have been reported to the BBB several times with complaints similar to mine.

Please don't fall prey to this company, they have bouncers with them. They scare you with their rude language and will threat you like anything. They are like goons. Please take care of yourself and your family and better to call cops, if they are delivering your stuff. Shame on these anti-social elements.
All good reviews are added by them self.
Date 09/02/2023 - After 4 years of my review above, these goons still have courage to respond, how shameless people they are. Guys don't use their services, they are goons. They broke my TV, 4 lights and still these bad elements of the society are in business. If you are using their services, Keep yourself safe and call cops, whenever they're delivering as goons and bouncers will be there, might be armed, so take care of yourself and your family members.

Do not use them. They do not know what they are doing. They hire amateurs who are strong enough to lift a ton of boxes and heavy things, but do not know the appropriate procedures/tactics for moving furniture. They don't even carry supplies in the truck to secure drawers, protect corners, etc. THEY WILL DAMAGE YOUR THINGS! They damaged our dresser and knocked it over (face first) on our driveway. The owner's daughter - Christy - will lie and say whatever you want to hear until it is time to pay. She is a puppet for her daddy Danius who is right next to her ... but "on vacation" when you ask to speak to him.
Further, when they damage your things and you inquire about resolving the situation, they will deny responsibility and question if it happened (even when their driver admits he did it). Then they will extort money out of you by threatening to leave with your stuff unless you pay in full. Yes, once your stuff is on their truck - you will not get it back until you pay in full. And you need to be on the movers butts because they will drag their feet and take forever.
Travel Fee: Let's talk travel fee. I called and inquired and Sergei (who cares if I am spelling right) said, "yes, I noted your account ... no travel fee" then proceeded to confirm the wrong time for the move. Then on the day of the move they included a travel fee on the contract. I called someone before signing. They said the travel fee is include as an hour with the 3 hour minimum. When it was time for the extortion so we could get our stuff off the truck, the person doing the bill stated the total includes the hours of labor plus the travel fee ...Ummm ... This was approximately the 6th lie of the day by this time. In other words, they will screw you with the travel fee.
When I asked the movers about these events, they admitted that these same issues occur every time. He called this in his words "deja vous" ...
I could go on, but won't. You get the idea. To summarize: 1) they suck , 2) don't care, 3) enjoy lying, 4) will definitely damage your stuff and 4) say what amounts to "so what - pay me or we take your stuff" ...

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS MOVING COMPANY!!! DO NOT USE.
If I could give Ellicott City Movers negative stars I would.
It all started off with getting a quote from Nadia. She quoted me (for a 3 bedroom place) $500-625 + needed packing supplies with 1 hour of travel and 3-4 hours of moving using 3 movers. Booked it for 9am on a Saturday.
I get a call the Thursday before our move asking if we could change our date to Friday or Sunday for a 10% discount. Unfortunately I couldn't.
I get a call Friday confirming my move on Saturday between 2-3pm. Wrong!!! I immediately call Nadia who explained they were down a truck and could not get to us until 2-3 but we would get 3 guys at a small discount. Ok, fine I agreed with little fuss.
I get a call at 11:00am on Saturday from an employee saying he'll be to our house in 20 mins. Fine, but wouldn't you know only 2 guys show up. Not the 3 I was promised. Ridiculous.
To make a long story shorter... It took these 2 guys 6 HOURS to move us, they DAMAGED 2 walls in our rental house, they CHARGED US $150 FOR STAIRS which was never mention
even as a possibility in my quote, and they didn't unpack half of our belongings they packed at our previous place. And they knew we were moving to a townhouse with stairs. So for a move that was quoted to cost $625 these movers charged me $1,100 which is almost double!! And now they only accept cash, which again was never brought to my attention before. I've texted Nadia multiple times about my disappointment in what they put us through. She can't be bothered to help me; she will only relay my message to someone to call me which hasn't happened. I know she's lying. She couldn't care less about us now. Nobody at that company can. They even told us we were lucky because they were early by arriving at 11:30am. Are you serious?!?! The original time promised was 9am you were late!!!
Based on our experience this company doesn't deserve anyone's business. I hope this review saves other people from going through what we experienced.

The worst moving company ever. They were unprofessional the movers did not have tools I specifically asked if a TV could be removed from the wall was told yes but the workers told me they couldn't do it that thier boss says alot of things they do that they don't. Then tried to take the TV down using tools I had from ikea and a butter knife they ripped out half the brackets of the TV leaving big holes. Then because they didn't have tools because they were left at the last job they tried to force the couch thru the door several times at the new apartment when the legs were supposed to be removed we had to borrow a wrench from a neighbor because they did not want to go and get the tools they left stating it would be on my time. The mattress got dirty because it wasn't wrapped. They tried to add on extra fees that were not discussed over the phone. I called and spoke with an office manager to complain she said my complaint would be forwarded to the main office and I would be contacted within 5 business days I recieved nothing. BE AWARE Do not use this company they are rip off scammers
