Despite encountering some challenges at the beginning, Elizabeth’s exceptional support and management put everything on the right path. Her attention to detail and commitment to excellent customer service were far beyond what I experienced with others. Another huge plus is that the company is so on time, and there are no hidden fees if you prepare the inventory carefully. They also explain all the fees when they arrive. CA - NY Express made our big move much less stressful. They were flexible, very communicative, and personable. The rates were extremely reasonable compared to other moving options like PODS or U-Boxes, considering they help you move/load. Everyone we worked with from the team were extremely nice, knowing that we were already worrying about so many other things that come with cross-country relocation! We felt very taken care of and would definitely recommend their services!

They opened my belongings and stole items. I hired them to move and they did move me, boxed stacked way too high when they arrived in NY. There were a few things that were damaged, but honestly I expected that with a cross country move. What I didn’t expect was blatant theft. Someone from this company opened my toolbox, stole a drill and its charger, a circular saw, a screwdriver, and a couple other smaller tools. I was pissed, but more than that I was so upset because the screwdriver wasn’t all that expensive, much less than the other items stolen, but it was extremely sentimental. I’ve taken a lot of time to cool off about this before writing a review. Do not hire this company and if you do, please ensure that everything that you can to best seal your belongings to deter them from getting into anything. I tipped them on pick up and delivery and I wish I could take it back. I just want my blue screwdriver.

I want to take a minute to review CA - NY Express. I was *nervous* about this move - to say the least - because of some reviews I'd read here. So I am happy to be writing this, as my anxiety is finally going down, because the move really went perfectly for me. My pick-up in NYC was June 25, 2024 and my things were moved into my new place in Oakland, CA on July 6, 2024 (though they were ready to come as early as July 2nd - I was the reason for the delay). I did a video walk-through with Bob who gave what was ultimately a very accurate assessment of the size of my move (about a one-bedroom-apartment worth of stuff, minus a tv or any technology. It was mostly furniture [two couches, a bed, bookshelves and boxes and boxes of books and clothes]). I did all of the packing myself. When my things were in transit between NY and CA I got a daily e-mail letting me know where in the country the truck was. Both teams of movers - on the Manhattan side and on the Oakland side - were great to work with. Friendly, fast, super-careful with my things. They wrapped the living daylights out of my stuff. Everything arrived (they encouraged me to do the inventory myself, which was good because it gave me something to do) and now that I have unpacked everything I can say nothing was damaged. Moving across country is stressful, and I found the process of trying to pick reliable movers to be incredibly so. It's expensive no matter which way you cut it. But this organization is transparent about their pricing, responsive to e-mails, friendly and they do what they say they will do. FIVE stars.

This company was honestly great. Was nervous about a cross-country move of course, but they did everything to make sure it went smoothly. Very good communication throughout, fairly priced, and accommodating to some last minute changes I had.
