If I could give this company no stars I would. Please save yourself the headache and look somewhere else. In short words this has been the WORST experience I've ever had, not only with a moving company but with customer service. For starters this was not the original company we hired, we called a "moving company" who then turned around and hired these unprofessional people to move our items. We hired them to move our items from Georgia to Texas, in addition, we requested for our items to be stored an additional 45 days until our home was done being built, I have the exact same complain as the rest of the people who wrote a review, they WILL OVERCHARGE you, they will hold onto your items until you agree to pay them whatever it is they want to charge you, if you don't they will not deliver your items, leaving you with no choice. Not only that, they are quick to call and request money but will completely ignore your calls when you need to know what the delivery day will be. I requested 3 days off from work for "delivery dates" that ended up in "no-shows" and no answered telephone calls. But here is the best part, their trailer was damaged during a storm while our items were being stored, 60% of our items were delivered damaged due to mildew. We lost so much furniture, the delivery people they hire from craigslist to help the driver and very careless and will not be careful with your items. I had broken legs on my dressers, broken kitchen glassware, I had to throw away all of my mattresses due to mildew damage. Just please stay away from this company.

Do not use this company. They are a fraud and hold your items hostage if you don’t give them more than agreed from the contract. Horrible DO NOT USE them. They took our stuff because we didn’t Zelle him money to his personal account. We were going to pay with card to the company but he wanted us to have no tracking. They are a scam and a fraud.

So, here's what i can say about my move with Federal Moving ..it was very smooth and professional. My friend made the referral and i am glad she did. As stressful as moving can be, these guys did their best to make it a good experience. First of all, i got a great price, even though it was pretty much a last minute job as i needed to be out of my apartment on march 29 and it was the 22 when i did the booking. Anyways, when time came to move on the 29th the crew showed up even before the scheduled time and were a very polite bunch. I had a lot of stuff and big pieces but i knew it wouldn't be too bad because there were elevators in both buildings. The foreman, i believe his name was Josh, was awesome at what he does and ran his crew well. The guys were professional and looked like they knew what they were doing. They helped me out with some stuff that i wasn't able to get ready and wrapped everything up. The actual move was fairly quick and painless. Nothing was broken and everything was on point. Before i knew it, we finished up the contract, and i was in my new apartment.
Overall it was a wonderful interaction and i would definitely recommend this company for anyone looking to move!

On moving day, the day before our walk through with our soon to be old landlord our movers came but it was not "Federal Moving", the company that gave us a bid of $6,500 over the phone. It was a company that Federal Moving sold our move too and they wanted $14,000 and all we could do was pay. We tried calling Alex @ Federal Moving but he was unreachable, we were stuck.
We got ahold of Federal Moving finally and Alex was very sorry and said he would fix this no matter what we would get some money back. It took about 48 days to get 95% of our mostly damaged things and when we called Alex back to tell him the extent of the damages he was appalled and promised to make it right!
Well the was last year and we have never heard from them again.

A terrible experience. We contracted with Federal Moving Corp. to move household goods from DC to Albuquerque. They picked up the furniture one day late (not too bad). Delivery was over a month late - a month of camping out without furniture, clothes, and kitchen equipment. Our delivery window was August 1, 2019 to August 7, 2019. On August 8th, the furniture was still in a warehouse in either New York or Brooklyn (despite repeated requests, they never told us where our furniture was).
Communication about when our goods would be put on a truck was dreadful. We would call, then be told they would call us back when they'd checked with the dispatcher (the person we spoke with often said "I don't want to keep you on hold while I'm checking."). Unfortunately, they would never call back. They were too busy and did not have enough trucks to deliver our goods in a timely manner.
Finally, they used a subcontractor, who delivered the furniture on September 7 - OVER A MONTH LATE. The subcontractor called the day before delivery to say that unless we paid $950 IN ADDITION TO THE CONTRACT PRICE, and paid him in a money order with the name of the payee left blank, he would "turn the truck around and take your furniture back to New York." At no time had Federal Moving, or anyone else, informed us that there would be costs over and above the contracted rate. Nor did they provide us with an explanation for the additional costs. We spoke with Manuk Torosyan, an official at Federal Moving Corp, who did not have an explanation for the added costs. After much debate, he agreed to reduce the additional charges to $320. We did not believe we owed this, but paid because the subcontractor was holding our furniture hostage.
It got worse. On the day of the move, the subcontractor demanded an additional $550 to move the furniture into the apartment. Our contract provided for door to door service that included use of an elevator at the destination and reassembly of furniture that the movers had disassembled in DC. We refused to pay $550 for a service included in the contract. The subcontractor then unloaded an apartment's worth of furniture and left it on the curb. We had to hire another service to move the furniture into the apartment.
