DONT don't believe a word they say this is been one of the worst experiences of my life they have taken all of my possessions are holding them ransom for about four times the value of what they quoted me they are not willing to work with me on any stance this company is a broker and has given my quote to a moving company that has outrageous standards and has damaged my products before even leaving the house they dropped my washer and acted like nothing happened
Robert Silva. Lied about ever detail of the process told my my price would not change and guaranteed me that the price was locked in and could not change making promises that he has no control over being the fact that he is not the moving company
Scam!!!!! Company has no care for you or your belongings and the customer service has no remorse over what they're doing are the promises that they make

DO NOT USE. They will sell you on a low rate but do not control the rates of the company they hire to actually move your stuff. I am paying double what was quoted.
They also estimate low on space so the truck that showed didn't have enough space so in addition to having to pay more, 10 items had to be left behind. The movers were EXTREMELY unprofessional, almost getting into a fist fight and openly rolling joints and smoking pot while loading. It took them 8 hours to load when it should have taken 4 tops. If you call First Rate to complain about the company that they brokered to they tell you there's nothing they can do and you have to work with them.
You will be told you should get your stuff within a week throughout the whole process but DON'T BELIEVE THEM. It's now been 9 days and the movers they use just confirmed that my stuff is sitting in a warehouse in the city it was picked up in, they still don't have a driver, and the earliest we will get our stuff is another 2 weeks.
We went this route because we couldn't believe the price and thought that since it was comparable to doing it ourselves this would be a better, easier option. WRONG. You get what you pay for. Do not trust the positive reviews. They have to be created by First Rate themselves. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Never Never Never again. Thieves, liars, damaged goods. Started out with one quote, one week before the move -12 boxes more than the estimate ended up costing me $2000 more. DO NOT USE BROKERS. Everyone was super nice until the week before when we were supposedly finalizing the cost. Then they have you over a barrel and already have a good sum of money so now they can flex and hold you and your stuff hostage. Then the day of the move because of the increase, I had already given away furniture and other items to get the price down and the driver shows up, video tapes my 52 boxes and a few other items and tacks on ANOTHER $750!!!! They told me they could take what would amount to the second estimate and I could figure out how to get the other stuff from Texas to California. So RUDE!! Driver asked if Saturday or Sunday of the next weekend would work. I stated Saturday but Sunday would be okay if needed. When the weekend arrived and I had not heard from anyone, I called and they stated that they had 45 days from the first date I would accept my stuff to get it delivered. This was stated on the bill of lading which you sign on the drivers phone while he is lying to you about when your stuff will be delivered. I was finally able to open my email long after he left and found the email with the bill of lading which stated I would not get my stuff April 15th as requested but at the end of May. I wrote the Federal Trade Commission and suddenly got a call that my stuff was on it's way. Most of my boxes were smashed. I had carefully packed each box so only lost a beloved clock. The drivers even brought a toilet, rusty washing machine, brick and 2 empty green totes and tried to give them to me. They appeared surprised when I told them not mine and to put them back on their truck. What a pathetic company. First Rate did not pick up or deliver. They brokered it to a Company call Care Free Movers. All of them are such manipulators and liars. I am a Single woman and felt strong armed by these so called people. Don't do it - you will regret hiring through this lousy company.

Do not trust this company, they will completely lie to you. It’s not a moving company, but a brokerage. They’ll falsify and over simplify your “quote” and the actual moving company that arrives, whoever it ends up being, will charge you much, much more. Once they get their deposit they’re unresponsive, and they will completely misinform you on timeline and logistics. Do not be fooled, find a moving company directly and contact them. First Rate will do everything over the phone, not video, which only causes problems.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY !
Beware that I got taken badly over the phone from these scammers and ended up losing my deposit. Hindsight is 20/20 but I wish I had never answered the sales call that I received from this company. They purposely underestimated the weight of our items to be moved so that I would be up charged when the movers arrived. They listed each item the same weight of 50 lbs. whether it was a box or a sectional sofa. I called the support team multiple times, and weeks in advance, to receive a revised estimate on our move after the number of items to be moved had changed and reduced dramatically. Finally, four days prior to the move, they sent the estimated moving cost sheet that was exactly the same price as the original estimate. They did not change the price of the move after they received the updated list even though it was less than half the items on the original list. We were duped by the salesperson on the phone to believe that we could subtract items 1 week prior to the move date with the understanding that we could actually reduce the cost of the move if less items/weight was needed. Had to cancel the move with "First Rate Van Lines" after we realized that we were taken and lost a lot of money with our deposit that we will never see again. Unfortunately, only after losing our money, I discovered numerous horror stories posted online about this company from other consumer reviews and found that they have a F rating with the better business bureau. Have contacted our State Attorney's General Office to pursue action as the company refuses to issue a refund.
