Unfortunately I did not have a great experience with First Step Moving. They were great with communication until it came down to my issues. The movers scraped up walls and ruined some of my furniture. After letting them know, the owner told me the mover could “come fix it” but how am I to trust for someone that didn’t do their job correctly in the first place come and fix anything? They are movers, not handymen. Nevertheless, the guy never contacted me. To add, the team also took our push broom. My husband saw one of the movers with it sweeping out the truck and the broom was never to be seen again. So disappointed especially because the company had great reviews.

I know that this service does not specialize in moving antique furniture, but the guys that we had assured me that they would be able to move a few antique pieces that we had. Two were damaged very badly and required $700 in repairs. They offered to repair it themselves, but I couldn’t trust them to repair these pieces themselves. I had already trusted them when they said they could move them and look where that got us. They paid us $0.60 per lb to cover the repair, but that only came out to about $130. The damage was consistent with improper handling. They stored the table on the legs rather than on the top. The ice chest has damage consistent with it falling flat on its face. Placing and securing the pieces properly could have prevented this. If the movers weren’t capable of moving these, they shouldn’t have offered. I would’ve saved money and a lot of stress and damage by just hiring separate movers for the few antiques. **I also wanted to add that the movers were very dismissive when I brought up the damage to them. They said something to the effect of "They're antiques. They're bound to break." If that was something they really believed, then I wish they wouldn't have been so confident about taking them in the first place.** **After seeing the business's reply, I have attached a picture of the moving truck from the day of the move.**

Terrific team! Noah and Cedric were professional, incredibly fast, friendly. We thought we had too much furniture, but they made it all fit like a perfect puzzle. They treated our things with the utmost care. I also needed to schedule the move in a hurry (and then I rescheduled). First Step was a dream to work with. Amazing communication. First Step movers sent William and his team of 2 others and they were amazing. They brought All their own equipment, to include truck, packing blankets, dollies, and plastic wrap. The men were thorough and experienced. I could tell they had worked together many times. I never had to prod nor check to see if they were working. None of my furniture was damaged and they cleaned up after removing my packing materials. I only hired them for the things I couldn’t handle myself and I have to say I was very happy with the move. Thank you!
