We used Great Job Moving and Storage on May 26, 2024 for our move from Fairfax City to Vienna, VA. We absolutely do not recommend using this company for moving. On May 3, we spoke with Dustin. We went room by room and informed him of everything that was in each room. We also informed him of a stop in the same neighborhood we were moving from to pick up additional items. The week of our move dispatcher Ranga, called to confirm our time window and the requirements of the move. Ranga suggested we add a fourth mover. Ultimately, we did end up with a fourth mover, but this was decided after it became apparent the moving company significantly underestimated the required time. On our move day, the crew did arrive on schedule. We walked them through the house and explained everything that was being moved. They got to work and only stopped for lunch. We provided them lunch because we thought, at the time, they were doing a good job. It quickly became apparent that the estimated completion time was greatly underestimated by Dustin, even with the additional mover Ranga suggested. The move took approximately nine hours to complete instead of the estimated time. Due to Dustin’s underestimation, the actual cost of the move was nearly double the estimate. We raised concern with Ranga after the move was complete about the total. There was nothing he could do and said Dustin would be in touch about the total. Dustin called a couple days later to discuss the total. It became apparent there was nothing he could do, so we talked with a customer service manager. We had multiple calls with her over the course of a couple weeks. It took a couple weeks because most of the time she would not call back when she promised. We even had a scheduled call with the owner of the company, but that call never happened. We made changes to our work schedule to have these calls. During the conversations with her, it was suggested that it was our fault the total was a lot more than the estimate, even though they knew everything we were moving. They are the professionals and should know how long it would actually take to complete the move. In addition to the total cost, the movers did significant damage to the house we moved from. Most significantly, there was damage to our custom made hardwood stairs. There was also damage to the house we moved to. Great Job Moving and Storage states on their estimate that basic floor protection at your residence would be provided. Apparently, this includes neoprene runners on the floors, door jamb/railing protectors, and staircase protection. None of this was provided. Due to the damage, we filed a claim with their insurance company. After the lengthy process, it was decided we only receive about $375. Repair was much higher than what we actually received from Great Job Moving and Storage. One quote, for example, estimated nearly $2,000 worth of damage. Since we do not trust Great Job Moving and Storage, we delayed our review until after the insurance claim was settled. Months after our move. In short, do not use Great Job Moving and Storage. The estimate is greatly underestimated to gain your business. When you get your final bill, you will be blamed when the total is significantly more than the estimate. When you begin the insurance filing for the damage done to your home(s), be prepared to jump through hoops to get your claim resolved. Once your move is complete, should you use this terrible company, be prepared for the crew to shove a review in your face only to boost their rating. In the end, do not be fooled by the reviews for Great Job Moving and Storage. Keep far away from this company. Moving yourself or finding a different company is the better choice. Note, this review may be posted elsewhere so any potential customers know the potential risks using Great Job Moving and Storage. A message to Great Job Moving and Storage: this review will be amended to state “this issue has been resolved” only if the total cost of our move is refunded.

Do not, by any means, use Great Job Moving and Storage. Despite their contract stating they wrap and unwrap furniture free of charge, they completely failed to do so for me. They didn't wrap my couch at all, leaving it on the ground outside, which resulted in it being completely destroyed. When I confronted the mover about this, he claimed there was nothing he could do. At the end of the service, they asked me to sign a contract stating, "I have inspected my goods and premises... There are no damages," which was not true in my case. I refused to sign, but moments later, I received a notification to view my signed contract, indicating the mover had forged my signature. When I brought this up, the mover drove away. This company is unprofessional, unethical, and does not care about you or your belongings. It’s worth spending the extra money to use a different company that will take care of your belongings properly.

When I needed moving help for my elderly neighbor who was moving out of his DC condo and into an Assisted Living facility in Arlington, VA, Great Job Moving & Storage were truly "great" to work with. In fact, they were exceptional. First, my experience coordinating the initial details with Mark Clements was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, flexible, efficient, and truly listened to my situation. He was able to provide me with the moving date I wanted even through I was only able to provide a few days' notice. Because Great Job Moving & Storage is very tech-friendly, Mark was able to send over the estimate and contract very quickly, and process my deposit over the phone. They sent follow-up reminders and emails leading up to moving day, and then showed up on time and ready to work. Second, the actual moving experience couldn't have gone smoother. Alex and his teammate Jackson were clear in their communication, thorough in their plan for the move, and careful with every item, and every box. Many of the items that needed to be moved were antiques, and they were very methodical about their approach. They even had to remove the front door to get some larger items out, and they did so quickly and then put everything back, just as it was. I can't thank Mark, Alex, and Jackson enough for their support. It really went GREAT, and was worth every penny.

I moved about a month ago and am just now posting as I was still unpacking. Decided to use this company based on the good reviews. What a mistake! They work fast because they’re rushing and just throwing stuff in boxes. So, let’s get to the stuff they broke. Buddha statue, glass display cabinet leg missing, and sofa leg broken. Not sure if it was the packing crew or the delivery crew (2 different crews btw). Then the delivery crew wanted me to pay the balance upfront before they even started unloading the truck. I didn’t of course. I tipped both crews generously and bought lunch. Bottom line: will NEVER use them again!!!

Had no issues with them picking up my belongings. The issues began an hour before delivery at our new home in TX. We told we had pay 3 times what was originally disclosed and agreed to on the contract or our items would not be delivered. Mark tried to claim that my items suddenly weighed more than expected 2 weeks after they picked my belongings up. They waited until the truck was on my new street to pull they old bait and switch. I refused to pay their extortion fee and have since filed a moving fraud complaint with FMCSA. This company is dishonest. They will low ball you to get the business then tripple the charges once your items are on their truck. Buyer be warned. In addition to their fraudulent practices once we finally got out items delivered most were delivered damaged. Over 30 pieces were missing. During the unload process I had to get on the truck and pick through other customers items for my belongings because everything was mixed up in the truck. The delivery crew dropped my $4000 new custom built smoker off the truck causing severe damage to my smoker and my driver way entrance. Use at your own risk. This company is not honest. They will defraud you and damage your items.
