Initial contact has always been friendly and accommodating...I can hear the smile in their voice when answering questions and talking. They initially moved us locally and did a fantastic job with the organization and care of our belongings. Two years later, we were able to use them again when moving to another state. The same organization and care was taken from initial meeting to cost estimates to loading, transport, and unloading. The crew was knowledgeable, friendly, courteous and mindful of our space (taking care to keep our floors covered during load and unload). I was very disappointed with this move. HD Auston was to provide a local move for our 4 bedroom house. We had a lot of items that we did not wish to bring or donated. Everything that was to go to our new house was packed and labeled. I even went as far as to tape a labeled ziplock bag to each piece of furniture that needed to be disassembled and put back together. The 3 man crew arrived late and smelled of smoke. Only one employee, Jeremy, broke down furniture and moved it outside to the truck. The other two slowly loaded things onto the truck. They did come inside to help every now and then, but it was rare. They did not wrap one mattress and actually placed most of my furniture on the grass in the front yard before loading. After 8 hours of "moving" my husband decided to cut it short and asked that they not reassemble my daughter's bed. Well, we couldn't put it together because the bolts to her bed were left on the truck. One of our desks was without legs for 2 days because they left those on the truck as well. My furniture was put together improperly and a mirror even fell on my husband. Shelves were left on tables, legs were broken off, there are still nuts and bolts missing to some of my furniture. When I contacted Mr. Auston the next morning, he stated he would review my move and get back to me. I have called twice since then and another employee has come to fix some of my items, but I have not had anything resolved at this point. It has been 3 weeks since my move. My advice: find someone else to help you move. I mean, literally walk up to a stranger and ask if they will move you, it will turn out better than our move.
