I sold my baby grand piano to a family friend and they chose to go with Island Moving. 4 guys and the owner came to my house promptly at the agreed time and wrapped the piano up to safely move. They moved it out without any damage. When done I asked if they could give me a price to move my tv from downstairs to upstairs and they went to take a look. They said sure and moved it upstairs for me. This is a 98in 7.5ft wide 4ft tall tv. They got it upstairs without any issues. They said they would just include that in the price of them moving the piano. I ended up tipping each of the crew members. Overall very professional crew and owner. They did not make a mess of my house and were respectful to not damage any of my property. If you have something big to move definitely give Island Moving a call!

See my Yelp review for the full long tale and photos. I reached out to Island Movers ten days after the move, to give them a fair chance to respond before I left reviews. Four days later was told they had not spoken with their crew yet. Inquired again two weeks after the move, but they never replied, so here we go. Very short version is they left two family heirloom chairs they unilaterally decided were junk outside by the trash, that didn't get found until the next day (thank goodness trash wasn't picked up that morning!), they packed several items poorly that led to damage (including an irreplaceable memorial for a pet), packed perishables with other unrelated items but didn't label them accordingly so stuff rotted before we found them during unpacking, appeared to have deliberately hidden some items to avoid packing them, and they left a BUNCH of stuff behind in the old place that we had to go move ourselves (small furnishings and various belongings). Good thing it wasn't a cross country move and we could go finish their job, imagine if we had moved across the country and didn't get back into the old place to see the stuff they left behind. Value was not great compared to my past experiences. It cost us $3470 to move a 3BR townhome two miles across town, when I've spent less than that moving a larger household over 2,000 miles in the past. All I can say for positives is that scheduling was easy, they arrived promptly when expected, and were done by the end of the day. Although most of the crew reportedly worked steady from what the wife observed, one guy seemed pretty whiny, repeatedly asking things like "do we have to move this, too?" Yes, you're a MOVER. Is it marked to not move? No? Move the things! If you're not put off by the cost, and if you can closely supervise, you'll probably be OK. If they eventually get back to me, I'll update this review.

Do not have them pack or store any belongings unless you can supervise them closely. Boxes not marked properly if at all. Boxes that went in storage were not turned so that labels were facing out. 2 chairs were left outside in the dirt! Cushions to a sofa were not removed and stored with heavy items piled on top of it. I fear my sofa cushions are ruined. Can’t find items that should have gone in apartment. We will now have to take everything out of storage in order to find missing household items. I can see my bath trashcan high up, but can’t get to it yet. I was able to get to my bed pillows. Still looking for Kitchen pots and pans. I could list more. Yes, they were nice. But I have cried every time I try to go find something. My daughter hired them for our move and she is disappointed at the execution as well.

Moving is stressful!! Island moving was wonderful! Just had Jade and his crew move our 4 bedroom house! They arrived at 8am on the dot! Did a walk through quick and began working. The guys were respectful of our stuff, our home, and our dog ;) Everything was removed quickly and without damaging the house! I would HIGHLY recommend using them and will be using them for any other moving needs! Thank you for saving our backs- our energy and probably our marriage! Haha

Island Moving was great. The guys worked hard but kept a good attitude all day. They treated our stuff like it was their own. I would hire them again in a minute!
