I was completely pleased with J Barber. Moving is a hassle no matter how you cut it; however, J Barber made it as pleasant and smooth as possible. Beverly Denny, the Relocation Manager, was always responsive and answered all questions promptly. The movers themselves were extremely careful with the furniture. Each piece was wrapped individually and handled with care. They worked as hard a humanly possible! Definitely a five-star company.

Colby and Joe were professional and conscientious in overseeing the loading and unloading of our furniture and belongings. All furniture was wrapped, padded, and protected. Floors and stairs in our home were covered for protection. Would highly recommend them without hesitation.

Update 2022: We finally found a house in Richmond after 2 years searching and again reached out to J. Barber for the move. Same experience as before...not one box or piece of furniture was damaged. Every part was tracked and everything was placed perfectly, even when I changed my mind about rug and furniture placement. Even in 90+ degree temps, the crew was respectful and courteous. From booking to the actual move the whole staff maintained excellent communication. Once again, a FANTASTIC experience from start to finish! Original move 2020: We recently moved from one historic home with many antiques and over 6,000sqft to another home a mile away which was equally as large. The whole experience from start to finish with J. Barber was top notch! Kate was checking in and keeping me informed throughout, the gentleman doing the survey was respectful, the quote I received was fair and competitive, however, the best part was the actual move. It was well into the 90s and the team of 6 never once complained. Everything was moved and wrapped to perfection, furniture was disassembled and reassembled while keeping track of parts, floors and doors were protected, and they wouldn't let me move or lift a finger and wouldn't leave until they were sure everything was placed exactly as I wanted it. I will never use another moving company again...J. Barber is the best!
