I can honestly say Gryphon is one of the finest guitar shops in the world. Full of heirloom instruments you will be hard pressed to find together other places. I drive very far just to go here once a year and it never disappoints. The staff is particularly helpful, knowledgeable, talented and attentive while answering any questions or requests. I'll continue to visit for many, many years!

A superb guitar shop. I have been a professional guitarist for many years and I was extremely impressed by the instruments in this store. Matt, Jason and the staff were extremely welcoming, unpretentious, knowledgeable and really gave me my space to play many beautiful instruments without putting any pressure on or standing over me at all. The shop is well laid out, all of the instruments are in great condition and well set up— this allowed me to really hear the guitars at their full potential in the shop. They also have an extensive repair shop where they do amazing work. It’s an unassuming store with an absolutely amazing selection of instruments. Highly recommended.

We've purchased both a mandolin and a Taylor guitar from these folks. I love the shop. They have everything from inexpensive ukuleles to very high end guitars, banjos, mandolins, and odd twelve strings. They focus on acoustics, but have a respectable selection of electric instruments too. Their repair shop is also wonderful. They can handle electronics as well as lutheir work. It's also a storied shop. Molly Tuttle famously bought her first guitar there. The staff are not "just" sales folks. You'd be surprised at who you might talk to behind the counter. They also gave a great repair shop.

In a world in which customer service is a dying art, Gryphon Strings rises above the status quo. In my search for a Veillette Avante Gryphon, I called the multiple times to help me make an informed buying decision. They were always happy to help and went above and beyond by sending additional pictures and even played 2 different instruments side by side to let me know the tonal quality between them. I am not one for empty praise. But I am one that will absolutely recognize and appreciate the representatives of a small business that show a genuine willingness to work with their potential clients as much as Gryphon has with me. No matter where you’re located, if you are an acoustic musician and looking for people that will provide whatever assistance you may require, then you can’t go wrong with Gryphon Strings. Give them a call before you purchase from anywhere else. You won’t be disappointed.

What a great facility. I took my guitar in for a repair. Staff is very patient, explaining the issue and reviewing the cost before performing the work. My acoustic guitar had developed some harsh jangling noise and it required several small adjustments to make it right - only an experienced luthier would be able to diagnose and repair so quickly. Now it sounds great and it wasn't expensive.
