James is a FANATIC OF HIS CRAFT! He’s the most passionate architect I have met in my business and my business is SF real estate. James has helped me tremendously twice. In late 2018 I purchased my own home and considered significant renovations. He went to the city, did all the research, met with me and my husband and in every detail explained all my options. He gave us all the pros and cons, timelines, city restrictions, home details, and answered all our whys and why nots. Thanks to him we saved thousands, probably hundreds of thousands of dollars on the project. Couldn’t be happier with a place for SIP! Then recently, we considered purchasing a another property that had a significant expansion potential. After touring the property in person, I called James for his expertise. Within 24hrs he had a full Zoom presentation ready, explained the history of the building, showed us the DBI website and all the records/permits on the property in question. We discussed the historic preservation issues, went over photos, timelines, city requirements and restrictions, what to expect from neighbors, etc. Most importantly, he pointed out the items that we should look for, such as an obvious unpermitted wall removal and the issues it’s causing in the home.
