The builder of the next WG McMansions tells me my car will be towed for parking in front of my house for the next three days because they want to “minimize the inconvenience incurred”. Didn’t even have the courtesy to talk to me about the inconvenience. They just left their signs. Welcome to the neighborhood, Thomas James Homes. This should be fun!

They tore down an old home in Willow Glen, shaking the foundations and walls of neighboring older homes for weeks! We are worried about the damage these constant ground vibrations are causing! Our narrow street is invaded by construction vehicles blocking access to our sidewalk as well as delivery drivers on our street. Our windows need to be closed as the dust and noise make it hard to work from home. Now,Labor Day weekend, the digging continues, noise levels interrupt our enjoyment of our homes, like isn't it against city rules to conduct construction in residential area on weekends?

I suspect many of the negative reviews here are part of a coordinated strategy to bad-mouth TJH. I've lived in Menlo Park (2 different houses/locations) for 39 years, and we love the vibe here. Sad to see people bad-mouthing this developer for bringing its particular style and project concept to our town. I haven't built a home yet but have been following progress on the many homes TJH has been building in West Menlo Park in recent years. I don't see ANY evidence of the neighborhood issues people are describing here. I think their end-to-end process, guaranteed pricing and timeline siund GREAT. Highly unusual among builders here, many of whom have delayed neighbors' projects for many months beyond their promised delivery date. Just visited a home they've recently finished in Sharon Hills and it is lovely inside and out. Fits into the lot and respects heritage trees on the property. Seems to be good quality and wonderful style. Price seems like a terrific value, relative to comparable homes in the area. I know change is hard, people. But why so nasty? No builder I perfect. We have remodeled extensively, so I know. Let's try to be reasonable about feedback and more open to new ideas...if for nothing than our neighbors who want to improve their home. TJH, keep trying to improve. We appreciate what you're trying to help homeowners achieve in our area.

TJH built 2 overpriced monsters and we neighbors and a lawyer took photos of the sloppy construction and shoddy materials they used and hid under a plastic facing. During the building their non-native speaking subs were outrageous, obnoxious, boisterous and crude using filthy language, dirtying up everything they touched including sidewalks and parking spaces. They ripped beautiful healthy trees out of the ground using excavators and spread debris in the air that covered neighboring homes. It gets worse. These horrid people cited neighbors on the block with code enforcement issues. Their RealSmart realtors are rude, loud and have no respect for the neighborhood as they try to dupe chumps into paying millions for garbage houses. Buyer beware? Better off to run.

Really terrible customer service over the phone. We called for a client to get the paint color on the walls of a home they built a year ago. The phone rep actually yelled at me. I will be color matching without that easily accessible information.
