The movers that I had worked hard to get the job done. The 3 star rating is caused by the owner himself. My washing machine was damaged beyond repair during the move. This washer was just over a year old, with absolutely no problems. I called a service repair to fix it, at my own cost. But, that’s when I was told that one part alone would be $600. It wasn’t worth fixing, I had to get a new washer. I was told that the moving of it was the cause. I called Danny, the owner, and told him what had happened. He told me that I should have called him, and he would have sent someone to look at it. I told him that I had planned on paying to get it fixed, and wasn’t going to make a claim, but that I had to get a new washer, that my washer was damaged beyond repair. He then told me that it was 60 cents per pound for a claim, and told me he’d look up the weight of the washer. He got back to me with a text and gave me the amount that would be given to me in accordance with the insurance for items damaged in a move. He also told me that the movers would pick up the broken washer. That was not a problem - I didn’t hear back from him, so I called back a day or so later, and followed up with a text. It was at this point that no one would answer any calls I made trying to find out when the washer was going to be picked up. (They always answered every other call that I made to them before I made a claim.) This is the start of my calls and texts being ignored. Needless to say, the washer was never picked up, or did I get the amount of agreed to money. He broke our contract. There is a complete failure at professionalism, honesty and decency. What a shame that this is how business is handled when there is an issue. And, he was recommended to me by another highly rated moving company. What a disappointment.

Danny and his team were awesome! They were very meticulous with my furnishings and went above and beyond with their service. Definitely would recommend their company. We will use them again!

Our experience with the owner Danny, as well as his team at JD Johnson was fantastic. Danny came over multiple times because we had some items going to a local storage facility and other items going from Charlotte to Hilton Head. We changed our mind on items going to each place midway through and Danny came back multiple times to quote. The quote was extremely competitive and they promised us great service. That was an understatement. Danny’s son Joseph, and the team consisting TA, Eddie, and Daniel all worked extremely hard in the sweltering heat, and we did not have one issue. Joseph the planner/organizer, TA the packer, Daniel the wrapper, and Eddie the “mechanic” all had their role they excelled at, and then they all lifted and hauled everything. They boxed and wrapped everything that we didn’t thoroughly, so that nothing was broken and when they brought in some very large pieces not one scratch on the walls. They also took apart and re-hooked up my wife’s Pilates machine and Precor. And when we needed some things to move around after they had already placed them, they had no issues with it whatsoever. Great group to work with and I highly encourage you to give them an opportunity to quote for your business. I would recommend JD Johnson Moving to any of my friends or colleagues. Randy T

We recently used JD’s for an unexpected dorm move out when the elevator in my daughter’s building broke. We called at 8 am explained the situation and they were able to help us. They were reasonably price, quick to respond, and careful with our belongings. Highly recommend.

I highly recommend this moving company! We moved interstate and had issues with the other moving company we hired and had to store all our things in a storage unit. We called this company the very late night before we actually moved in and the owner answered the phone despite late hours and assured me he would take care of us. His prices are reasonable and he was so kind. The movers did a phenomenal job and quick too! Really appreciated the whole experience. Definitely recommend if you are looking to move locally!
