Dr Burns is the most brilliant surgeon for any type of Orthopedic problem. On my first visit he diagnosed my severe arthritis after having been in shoulder pain 3 years and countless misdiagnosis. I was scheduled for a total shoulder replacement surgery within 2 weeks! Dr Burns uses a state of the art 3 D imagery of the any joint and sends the imagery to a specialized vendor who creates a perfect replacement joint/socket to fit your perfectly! This is amazing, no one size fits all! He is a Nationally known ‘shoulder guy’, written up in the Atlanta Monthly magazine, and gives lectures on his specialized techniques. My surgery went perfectly, I was out of pain in 2 weeks and I cannot thank Dr Burns enough for giving back my life! His staff is fantastic too, especially his nurse, Jennie McCarthy, who is our family hero for taking on our insurance company with tenacious ferocity, she is forever in our hearts for her professionalism and personal dedication to make sure her patients WILL receive the care that they need. All of the Southeast should count themselves lucky to have Dr Burns in Atlanta; my sister is flying out from Texas just to see him for an appointment! Dr. Burns is the total package. He is extremely conscientious and professional, detailed in resolving your issue, and very personable and friendly. I injured both shoulders in separate incidents at separate times and he diligently identified the problem and prescribed the treatment that helped me get both shoulders back into shape without surgery, and back on to the golf course which he knows I love. His primary nurse, Kathryn, is the very best clinical team member I have ever experienced in communicating with a doctors office. I have several medical issues and therefore have numerous doctors and periodically interface with their clinical staffs. Kathryn is the absolute best! She is proactive in coordinating appointments, imaging, interfacing with Dr Burns, whatever the issue and always calls you back promptly with details, information and instructions. Dr. Burns’ practice is run the way all doctors offices should be run.

From day one I was fully informed and well taken care of like family. Dr Burns made sure I had my ice machine and someone came to my house to show me how to use it! On day of surgery it was like being a race car. I had 5 nurses working on me at the same time getting me ready ! They were awsome! After I woke up the great care continued and they briefed us again on recovery. Dr Burns came by and checked on me to make sure I didn’t have any questions unanswered. Once home I was scheduled to see Dr Jenny McCarty at follow up. She checked range of motion and made sure my pain management was going well. One morning while waiting for office to open at 8:00. One of the doctors let me in office so I wouldn’t have to stand in the cold. I have been to both offices and can’t say enough about the ladies and nurses. My rotator cuff is doing great! I had my knee “scoped.” After two weeks I hardly feel any pain, a sign of a good job. The team was very professional and friendly, they made me feel as if I was at home. I highly recommend Dr. Burns. The guy is on the ball.

Excellent surgeon! Repaired two tears in my Right Rotator Cuff and one in my bicep followed by Physical Therapy, I have no pain or problems full range of motion since 2021.
