Prepare yourself in advance and be sure to have all your documents with you. The people working inside are not as courteous as you might assume. The snack carts inside are pretty pricy but worth it. I don't mind the hotdog cart in front of the main jail either. They range about the same.

Being summoned as a juror. Very few individuals like to be called for this duty. However, one could take this opportunity to learn how the court system works. The place has wifi for people to log on while waiting. There is a break room with microwave oven. There are vending machines that sell drinks, fast foods. If one is driving, remember to take the parking ticket to jury office to have it validated.

Went to deliver an impact statement. The sentencing side of the building looks run down. The floor tiles look like they are asbestos from the 60s. The restroom floor mosaic tiles are so dirty that I doubt a power washer to clean them. Did not see a handicap seating area inside the quart room. On a positive note the officers that check you in were friendly and polite.

I’m not really sure who is running the jury duty office but I think it’s highly unprofessional to mail citizens misinformation. I rescheduled jury duty due to bereavement. The following week I get a notice in the mail with a contradictory date to what’s on the Jury Duty portal online. I called the office for clarification and went back and forth with someone, ended the conversation with them telling me to follow the information on the Jury Duty portal. Then, somehow today I receive an email saying I missed jury duty despite me being summoned for jury duty in March. They sent an email claiming I had to schedule a make up on a proposed time and day, yet never put the day in the email. I try to call and apparently they’re closed now. This makes absolutely no sense to me. Why am I being mailed one thing and my Jury Duty portal tells me something else. Horrible experience, and I haven’t even gone to jury duty yet.

Interesting place to be when your summoned for jury duty 😖. If you've never been there like I have, its a little hard to navigate different areas. Now for jury duty its posted everywhere so its easy to find where to check in, but when your called to the courtroom, its a maze, me and 40 other people were lost for a few minutes before we figured it out. But I got out of there within 2 hours so it wasn't that bad. I would prefer not to come back here ever 😉
