Kearney Moving Storage Inc. Info | Compare Moving Quotes

I used Kearney Moving to move from my house in Nokomis to Siesta Key. Upon arrival we had over $7,000+ worth of Restoration Hardware furniture damaged, leaving them near useless. When I confronted the movers about it, they denied that the damages happened during the move but I witnessed the pieces breaking upon unloading from the truck as the men took the furniture out of the truck. I asked John Kearney, the owner if he could send out a furniture repair specialist to repair the damaged pieces and he agreed he would follow up. It's now been 3 weeks and not only have I not heard from him and he won't return my calls.

Just thought you might like to read what I just posted on Nextdoor. Next I’ll try to do Google. And wherever else!! While I’ve already written a couple of reviews on how awesome Kearney Movers are!! I have to follow up with more of the story!! First of all, they went out of their way to bail me out of a hideous last minute situation with the movers I had planned on partly because of several favorable reviews here and a less expensive original estimate!. However, at 5:00 pm the DAY before the move was to start, they sent me a ‘final estimate’ of the move cost which was more than TRIPLE their original estimate and despite the fact that a lot of work we did was not noticed…the second price went up!! Additionally they told me that they could not come out as scheduled if I didn’t sign the newly revised third estimate which was now up to was $15,xxx.xx from an original $6,xxx!!!Hence the frantic call to JP at Kearney who came back out to my house ON A Friday night and gave me what I thought was going to be that high estimate, but while there and seeing all that we had done, he reassured me that the cost would come in well below his original ! And after some serious rearranging of his life he scheduled packers and movers for Monday!! I extended closing on my house…JP said they would be out of the house in time for the closing to go as scheduled for the next day on Tuesday afternoon!…the other mover was stretching things our AND was going to charge me an additional $4,500 to load and yet another $4,500 to unload the next day!!! JP said no no no….thats just not what he could imagine. While i was a bit skeptical, I am now a total believer!! It happened on time!! And to make it even sweeter, my final bill was almost half of what his original estimate was!! Yes!! TRUST KEARNEY MOVING! And while I’m at it, the moving and packing guys they sent out were some of the nicest and most helpful people ever. Many of them are long term employees…like 10 to 20 years with the company!! That right there tells me the kind of people I had the privilege of dealing with!!

I have used Kearney twice-once to move my items into their storage facility, and most recently to have the items moved from storage to my new apartment. On both occasions, I was more than pleased with the service. I had the owner John and his son JP assist me the first time around, and David and Bill for the second move. They were all awesome. The move went very quickly and efficiently, but, more importantly, every single person who I dealt with (including office staff) was very pleasant, helpful, and polite. I also appreciated that for both moves, they were able to do the job on my first choice of dates, even though they were both with short notice. I would absolutely use this company again in the future, and highly recommend them!

Don’t hesitate to call Kearney Moving & Storage! Smokey, David & the rest of the crew that moved us this past March were just a great bunch of guys... Professional & friendly & totally aimed to please! All of our furniture was well cared for & put back together perfectly! From chatting with two of the men, they had each been with the company for between 10-15 years! That’s says a lot! The bill was reasonable as well! We originally had a quote for over double the amount we paid! We were just moving from an upstairs condo in Pinerun to the community right next door, Blackburn Point Woods!!! My husband & I highly recommend Kearney!!!
