DON'T PLACE YOUR ORDERS ON A WEEKEND! I placed an order on June 30th, 2024 online. According to the Order Confirmation I received from the company, it stated that " ANY ORDER placed on Saturday or Sunday will not be processed to ship until the following Tuesday or Wednesday." So, today being Wednesday I call to check on my order and was informed that because they didn't see my order on Monday it wouldn't ship til the 8th (Monday). That means I probably wouldn't receive it til the 10th or 11th , not to mention it was a $65 shipping charge. Then the lady goes on to tell me because of the holiday they have different shipping days. You have to go to a different page on their website to find this information, because when I placed my order their website said NOTHING about this in the order confirmation that they sent me. That is just poor management in their ordering and shipping departments. To think that they would take an extra step to ensure the customer was somewhat satisfied, they rather return your money and force you to shop elsewhere. This was my first order with this company because relatives of mine spoke highly of their product. I didn't even get to try any of it. I guess they have their client base and don't care about new customers. Sad, very sad!

Ordered a loaf of hot head cheese, it was TERRIBLE, as was their customer service. The head cheese was BLAND. The meat was undercooked. 80+ dollars spent for this, including shipping, and I feel like I got ripped off. Contacted customer service several times and was ignored. They got paid, now I can bugger off, I guess.

Good sausage. Bad company! I bought 2 holiday sausage around the holidays, one had a due date, the other did not. First time I called I was told to return the sausage to the store, really? First, its not my responsibility to fix this problem, and i shouldn't have to waste my gas to fix their mistake, second I did not have the receipt why would i keep a receipt for food that I froze 2 months ago. Anyways, long story short I called back a few more times, and still no one has called me back from their quality control dept. If this is the way they care about their customer, I can just imagine the care they put into making their sausages. I will not be buying their sausages again, i will stick with Rinaldi sausage from Detroit!

Tried to have holiday sausage shipped, but just know this........ you can only order on Monday or Tuesday before 11am, if you want your shipment in the same week. In addition to the strange ordering parameters, the $33 2-day FedEx, doesn't mean that you are going to get your order in 2 days, it means that their product will only spend 2 days with FedEx. Truly some crazy, bass akwards stuff. Good luck, we had to cancel because our "holiday sausage"...... couldn't make the party on 2 day shipping, ordered a week and a half early.

Update: Since my post a year ago, I have been buying the bulk natural casing hot dogs and although they are still a bit heavy on the smoke, they were definitely dialed down from my intial post. Today though, I looked at the 8 packs as I often do, and Kowalski clearly needs a veteran worker at the quality control helm. You cannot ship one set of dogs over smoked and the next one hrdly smoked and expect to keep your customers. We have been consistant, that's all we want from you. My guess is the top management is filled with college grads now with degrees in eating sushi who never even eat hot dogs. Just a guess. I grew up in metro Detroit and have always looked for Kowalski products. I actually believe that my phone coversation/request led to vacuum packing some of the lunchmeats so stores that are infected with the boreshead, still have what I want. But my disatisfaction is in the natural casing hot dogs, specifically, the 8 packs vs the bulk packs. Since covid, it appears that Kowalski is discontinuing the bulk bags (temporarily I hope) and we are left to only the 8 packs. These hot dogs have always had a "hint" of smoke and the bulk packs still do. But the 8 packs have something wrong in the process. Its way overboard on smoke. I am regretfully buying Koegel now with Dearbon Sausage on my mind. Wonder why historic companies go under? Keep watching Kowalski.
