Thy stole some of my stuff. Jokes on them, none of that jewelry was worth any money. They refused to offload our stuff because it was three in the morning before they got out stuff to the new place. They were 7 hours late. They took off with our stuff and charged us 2,000 to get it back and then they threw it around and broke stuff ruined photo albums and books. I beg of you, don’t give them your business.

This company is TERRIBLE. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for moving assistance. I moved from CA to TX and received a BINDING quote online and confirmed it over the phone, and when the movers showed up (TWO DAYS LATE), they increased the price by over twice the previously bound price, from $1,250 to $2,500 indicating that our large flat screens they had noted were not flat, but projection TVs, and our total cu sq. ft. was more than the estimate. I had made it a point to make it clear to them that our TVs were projection TVs when I called in for the estimate, I even told them that it was the entire reason we needed to hire movers! Well, apparently they wrote things down incorrectly and now I had to pay the difference or cancel the order, forfeit my deposit, and find other movers. Since my back was now against the wall, I instructed them to proceed with the move and signed the new contract. The next day I got a call from their "manager" Anna, who advised me that my items were now at their storage facility in Los Angeles and would not be shipped out until I paid an additional $1,300 via Zelle, Chase bank account transfer, or wire. Credit cards or other forms of payments were no longer being accepted. I was blown away with her demand. When I asked her why I needed to pay that much, she indicated that it was 70% of my new total of $3,200. Somewhere along the line after they took my stuff, they added $700 of charges that I never knew about, or even agreed to. I sent her a copy of my signed contract, and her only response was that her foreman advised her that there was another change and my account was being updated accordingly. I reached out to her again with a copy of the signed revisions made in person, and I asked her to confirm my items were in transit. I haven't received a response and I have no idea where my items are now. These people are scammers and thieves. Those positive ratings are clearly FAKE, as they are posted within days of one another. Unfortunately for me and my 3 children, we are legit customers of this terrible company. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT USE THEM!!

These movers are complete scam artists. We read the original reviews and told the representative that we were concerned and he said that the reviews were for a different local mover and that they get that all the time. They assured us that we had a binding estimate based on an estimate weight of 14000 pounds but once we were halfway packed and loaded, they said we owed more money and forced us to sign something that said the old binding estimate is null and void and that our stuff was more like 23000lbs. They also said we had a very large volume of stuff. Once we got our stuff unloaded, we found out that they had left 800 cubic feet of void at the back that we couldn’t see when they were loading. We also got the weight tickets for our dedicated truck from the driver and it was only 12000 pounds (less that the original estimate) and we were charged for 24000 pounds. They threatened to take our stuff to storage and charge us $6000 more if we didn’t pay for it in full when our stuff arrived. I can’t say enough bad things about this company. Don’t let their great customer service before you sign fool you!!! They are totally unresponsive and unreliable! Worst people I have ever dealt with!!

I will begin by saying that I'm not new to cross country moves. I moved New York to Texas, Texas to Florida, and in this trip Florida back to Texas. So I've dealt with long distance moves and knew what to expect. This is the WORST company I have ever dealt with. There's zero communication on what's going on. They are chatty and wonderful while you are booking and getting your estimate, but the closer you get to the move date, the worst the communication gets. We originally had the pickup scheduled for the Thursday before Easter. Because we were moving cross country and also had to move 4 cars and 2 cats, we were depending on that date, which they approved and all of the logistics (when to shut down electric, when we would start driving to Texas, etc.) were set up around that date. 2 DAYS before it was supposed to happen, I get informed that I'm mistaken and the date was Saturday, not Thursday. I was upset, but sent my husband and kids to Texas and waited for the movers. Friday night I get a TEXT (not a call) informing me that the driver got sick and that they would try to find another. I was then told that they would pick up on Monday. They did show up on Monday and took all my stuff - the movers themselves were nice guys and seemed to actually care and did a decent job. However, as in other posts you've seen, we were charged about $600 in extra costs that weren't included in the actual estimate. I was told that they were going to expedite my stuff because of all the problems that I had, and they did - they picked up on Monday and delivered the stuff on Saturday. You would think that the rep I had been dealing with would have been the one that told me that, but the driver called me himself to let me know that's when they were delivering - my rep didn't return my calls at all. So Saturday comes - they bring my stuff - boxes were upside down, smashed and in all kinds of bad shape. There were nicks on the furniture even though it had been wrapped in blankets, etc. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY - THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING EXCEPT THE MONEY. I SENT THEM PICTURES OF THE NICKED FURNITURE, PICTURES OF CRYSTAL MARKED FRAGILE THAT WAS SMASHED AND HAVE YET TO GET A RESPONSE FROM THEM BECAUSE THEY ALREADY HAVE THEIR MONEY SO THEY DON'T CARE.

TL;DR: Do not use them. They are late, unprofessional, do not care for your things, and are impossible to file claims with. You will regret it if you choose to hire them, probably about the time you hired them to arrive at your house and they call you to tell you they'll be there the next day. Your stuff will get broken, random people will be handling your stuff, your claims will be denied, and since they only take cash or postal money order, you won't have any way to get compensation. First, we didn't know we had hired Lone Star until they showed up with separate paperwork, 28 hours late. We had unknowingly hired a broker, who had contracted with Lone Star. Second, as mentioned, they showed up 28 hours late. They also showed up with half the people we had been told to expect, and had stopped to pick up another load on the way to get our stuff. When they arrived, they assured me they would be done packing our house by 9, 10 pm at the latest. They didn't finish packing until the following afternoon (of course, they didn't start until noon the following day either). The result of all of these delays was that we were late in passing over possession of the house to the new owners. They also strong-armed me into accepting damages by weight, without ever providing an estimate of the total value (as required by law). They wouldn't begin packing until I had signed for this, and by virtue of being 28 hours late, I didn't have any choice. Third, because they had another load in the truck, they didn't have room for all our stuff. As a result, a bunch of our stuff ended up in New Jersey, while the rest made its way from DC to Ohio. Fourth, everything they packed for us was damaged (except for the TV. I do appreciate the care they took with my TV). Everything from dishes and glassware to furniture came back to us damaged. Most boxes were just tossed together with no packing materials, furniture wasn't wrapped in anything protective or covered in blankets. Some of our stuff came back with substantial water damage (it didn't rain on the east coast between when the movers took possession of our stuff and when we got it back, but somehow multiple boxes and a couch were literally dripping when we got them. So long, books. Fifth, once we finally had all our stuff (remember they didn't have room in the truck?), we looked up the cubic footage of what we were quoted versus how much was used in the second truck, and added that to the MAXIMUM capacity of the first truck (remember, it wasn't empty when they got to our house, but let's give them the benefit of the doubt). They had over-charged us by over $1,500. Sixth, we tried to file for our damages. However, the service they use doesn't do arbitration, and despite our submitting the paperwork 3 times, claimed to not have any record of our claims. I looked them up, and they have never actually facilitated a claim; they work for the moving companies to obfuscate and prevent people from successfully lodging claims with the movers. Trying to get compensation has taken nearly a year, and at this point, we're done. The only option left is to file in small claims court, and I'm not flying to LA to try to get the few thousand dollars they owe me. Completely unrelated to anything else, their crew hired a bunch of random people off Craigslist to help with the unloading in Ohio. I presume they had tried to do the same in DC but found no success, which is why they were understaffed there.
