This job is very racist & isn't for us African Americans/Blacks.Generous hours are true & not legal with any real railroad company that shouldnt be working no emoyee over 10-12hours maximum.Be prepared to work anywhere 16-20 hour plus days,with lack of 3-5 sleep if there's any proper rest,& on call any time you'e gotting off within 5 hours or less.If you're white & abandon/quit your job and came back then you're able to get this job without being turned away.If you're black & want to return to this job,you will NOT be offered a fair chance like a white guy that left on my shift name was Kevin while I was employed as Track Maintenance/General labor 12/6/2022-2/18/2023.This job is good for someone whom like to travel & be away from home extended months at a time & only receive home time 2weeks straight when it's your slot time coming up.Good luck.

Was offered a job with this company in the field doing maintenance. Went through all the background checks,provided everything they wanted and required and spent alot of money to purchase everything on their packing list to start the job. I quit my current job and was excited to start. I got an email from one of their reps one day confirming my start date for training with flight and hotel accommodations and was ready to start. The very next day I get a call from a different person telling me my offer had been rescinded by no fault of my own. Business changes I was told. Now I don't have a job and out the money I spent on the things they told me I had to buy. I've reached out by email to them to see if they will reimburse me the money I spent and of course no response. Do better Loram.

I work at LORAM and all I have to say is... Those reviews from 3 years ago are not true at all. In my time of being here I've been on 2 trains so far and many different safety meetings and theres plenty of black and white people with no racism at all. The benefits are amazing and so is the pay. You get 6-12 weeks on or choose to stay longer if you wish, and full 2 weeks off. Only downsides I see are people with families have a harder time then people such as me who have no girlfriend, wife, or kids. If you have family stay on the 6 week rotation, if not I suggest staying on as long as possible. You make so much here. I love this job.

Is it true that a loram car hit and killed someone yesterday? If so you should probably stop your employees like Cody rogers from blabbing their mouths around town. You should only be hiring employees that you can trust for the hire. Otherwise that could really be a liability for the company.

I worked at Loram for a little over 6yrs (from 2015 to 2021) & the Best things IMO about this company are the benefits(great 401k) & the shop/union employees. (Great group of shop guys to work with!)Bad things=They change mngmt positions around Waaay too much & Tooo much mngmt!! Lack of communication between management/engineering etc... & shop employees! You can definitely tell upper mngmt doesn't like the union too much!(I could write more about this, but don't feel like writing a fricking book!) & this place has to have a union! Seems like mngmt has a problem remembering they're ALL in this Together!!! (Get the machines built & going down the tracks, & make $$)
