I have mixed reviews on this move. Pros: The lady on the phone, I think her name was Nancy, was very professional and made me feel confident about the move. She quoted me an hourly rate for 4 movers and a truck that seemed very fair for local move. She called before the move to confirm. The phone process really put me at ease that the move was confirmed and the movers would show up, etc. Cons: The day of the move, the movers showed up on time. Took about 15 min to do paperwork. There was a little nickel and diming of the pricing for little things. It was a little frustrating, but not a huge deal. The movers did put stuff on the ground to protect the entry way; however they did not but anything to protect the thresholds of the walls. Every moving company I've previously used protected the doors/thresholds. It was also peculiar that when the movers disassembled items (entertainment center, bed, office desk, etc) Some of the movers would randomly hand me parts. He even stated, "sometimes I forget and go home with these things". Some of the movers packed the parts with the item. Its now a week or so in and I am putting shelves together, etc and I have a bunch of random parts to sort through to figure out where they go. There was 1 mover that seemed to be the main guy and a second mover that seem to have some experience. The other 2, I think it may have been the first day on the job. Also, 2 did not speak any English and one spoke very little. This made it a little difficult trying to give directions of where items were going from the old house to the new house. Many of boxes, etc, ended up in wrong rooms, etc. Paying by the hour, I had to decide to spend extra time waiting for the guy who speaks English to given them directions or just decide to move it myself to the appropriate spot. We did move into a 2 story house. The guys were carrying large items (large wood furniture) with only 1 person on their back. These items really should have had 2 people carrying up the stairs to prevent dinging the walls. It was just a little careless and dangerous. Because there were 2 guys that appeared to be the first day on the job, the move took quite a bit longer. The newer guys were standing around waiting for directions from the main lead mover. What was a local move that I thought was going to take about 6-8 hours, ended up taking over 10 hours. Of course anything over the 8 hours ( I think it was 8 hours) was charged at a higher rate. Overall, the move was just really inefficient and overall executed poorly. At the end of the day, the items got moved. There were just a few small dings on some things, but after moving several times with movers, some of these things are just naturally going to happen. The local move, with TIP for the movers (they did work hard, just not efficient, safely or with precision), cost me about $2300. I was expecting it to take less time and therefore not be as expensive. I did like that Magic Movers had the option to have the movers at an hourly rate, (it saved me the trouble of having to itemize every single item being moved), but in retrospect, I maybe should have considered going with a different company and cataloging the items to get a "maxim moving charge". There was also about a half hour of fudged time between the start time and the end time. Not enough to throw a big fit about, but was just a cherry on the top for a move that ended up being a lot more stressful than it had to be. I would definitely ask when you use this company, the experience of the crew that is going to show up specifically to your home. Also, confirm that the crew speaks a language that you also speak (helps significantly when you are trying to direct 4 guys on where to put all your boxes and items).

Exceptional company and service. Steve William and Eduardo were a pleasure to work with! I have extremely heavy large annoying furniture but these guys were strong careful and very respectful of my belongings. I couldn't get them to even take a break!! I moved from my three bedroom + house into a two bedroom over- stuffed condo. When it all did not fit the movers took my remaining stuff into their storage.... Very accommodating and what a relief!! Very professionally run business, everyone is friendly helpful and polite. Thanks again guys well worth the price! Will definitely use again and highly recommend Magic Moving!!

When I needed to move to a new apartment in the area, I asked my new property management company what movers they would recommend. They referred me to Magic Moving. My move with Magic went very smoothly, exactly as promised. Magic gave me an estimate free over the phone. They explained the process very clearly, and were able to book the day and time I wanted. I asked for early morning on a Thursday. They said they could be at my place at 7 a.m. The crew arrived at 7 a.m. on the dot. They put down mats to protect floors and doors, they wrapped my furniture in plastic to protect it as well. They took extra care loading glass shelves. We didn't have to go far, just around the corner, to reach my new place. They unloaded as carefully as they loaded, and put my furniture and boxes exactly where I wanted them. The final bill was $30 more than the estimate, since we went a smidge over the 3 hour minimum. A few days later, I received a call from Magic to check on how my move was coming along. I'd recommend Magic to people moving within the area. They worked well for me.

This is the 3rd time we've used Magic Moving & Storage. I would give them '10 stars' if I could, SUPER COMPANY! When I was preparing for my move from Danville, Ca to Seatle, Wa, I had no doubt who we would hire. We used Magic Moving for two other local moves in the past and each time we had clean, professional, experienced movers who always do a fantastic job. They are thorough, pack and protect all of our belongings with such care, so we of course hired them for our long distance move. I have moved many times and have learned that this process can be mundane and exhausting. This time, I hired Magic to pack and move us; I did very little this time and was worth every penny! If you haven't experienced FULL service then you owe it to yourself and your family to hire these guys. The time and money saved is well worth it! I cannot praise this company enough. The office reps, the crew members, and the drivers are all very polite, very friendly, extremely knowledgeable and experienced. In all of my moving years, I have never had such great movers, nothing ever damaged, no problems, always on schedule and just a joy to work with. I have already recommended Magic Moving & Storage to friends and family and I highly recommend them to you!

My family and I moved north to Redding from Danville. We used Magic Moving to move amd store our furnishings for a while. The entire process was flawless and we were very very impressed! We have no regrets and the price well worth it! This company was fantastic and very helpful! Will higly recommend!
