Mordue Moving & Storage INC Info | Compare Moving Quotes

Don't ever think of using Mordue. It should actually be MOR ---DOESN'T. We got a "free quote" only to owe almost $1000 more after the move. The same people who loaded the truck did not unload the truck. We moved from Peoria, IL to Chicago, IL on 8/15/22. We were instructed to be at our new residence at 9:30. The movers showed up at 12:30 without calling or letting us know about a delay. One of the 3 movers left when they arrived. I had to call Mordue to have them send more people to unload the truck. I had packed and labeled 90% of all of the boxes. The word fragile means nothing to them. My safe was set on top of a box of glasses. They shattered a mirrored stand. They scratched 2 coffee tables, and 2 end tables. The broke one of our storage drawers off of our beds. They broke several dishes. One of the workers argued with us. We were trying to direct him where to put the boxes that were plainly marked. He decided to put them wherever he wanted. At the new residence, no carpet protection was put down and the carpets were stained. Our freezer was scratched on the side panel. The stairwell was scratched and black marks were left on the walls from the movers. Our kitchen table base was scratched and gouged in several places. The mover wanted to leave and left our master king size bed assembled wrong. He left 6 screws not screwed in and just put our mattress on top of them. After hiring a separate company in Chicago (Fixer), we found our mattress was torn on bottom from the screws. The movers were packing up the truck to leave and we noticed that they forgot to unload pieces of our furniture. WE had to ask them to check the truck in order to assure that all of our belongings were actually unloaded. And.......we moved on a Friday. The movers were not done unloading the truck and the office was calling for payment in full including the additional charge they tacked on. My recommendation is never give them money before they finish the job and finish it correctly. After they have your money , they lose interest in our satisfaction quickly. Thank heavens we took out the insurance. The company that repaired everything (Associates Claim Service, INC) was great. They fixed the kitchen table stand, the coffee tables, the night stands, arranged to have the carpets cleaned and the walls painted. However, each time they came, it required we be at the house and work around schedules. It is now November 7 and we just now got most of the furniture repaired but still have not gotten any reimbursement for the items that could not be replaced. Mordue provided us terrible experience. The scale above asks to rate our experience with 5 stars. Our experience was a minus 47!!!!! My recommendation is to look for a better company that will give you good service and care about your belongings.

From beginning to end, Mordue did a very professional job moving my mother-in-law. Travis was easy to work with, the office had good communication with us, and Cory and Don did a terrific job on moving day. Their care and thoroughness was much appreciated. Both worked hard to provide efficient and careful service. Very willing to help us in any way possible. Would highly recommend.

I have used many different moving companies: this one is absolutely top tier. Leo & Jarvis were exceptional movers: careful, friendly, and efficient. They explained everything in clear terms and documented all of my items precisely. This is the second time our family has used Mordue Moving & Storage, and we will continue to recommend to friends. First of all, this review is long overdue! I just can’t say enough about Leo and Jarvis. They totally changed my mind about paying a bit more for professional movers. I used Mordue to move into my first ever home and I’m so glad I did. Travis was awesome and responded quickly to my texts and calls during planning. If I ever have to move again, my first call will be to Travis and Mordue. I will NEVER do U-Haul and Friends ever again! Leo and Jarvis took excellent care of my things. They treated my items as if they belonged to them. Peace of mind was worth every penny! All of the items they moved made it safe and sound. And once they got my items delivered, that wasn’t the end of it. Jarvis noticed I had a door off its hinge. He picked up a screwdriver and just fixed it. I’m not sure if I will ever see these guys again, but I will remember how at ease I felt the entire time during my move. Thank you Mordue! Thank you Travis! Travis did an excellent job coordinating our move. The estimating process was prompt and efficient. The moving team of three was courteous and professional. I especially appreciated how careful they were to protect furniture items and avoid scuffing walls while moving large, heavy items. The final move was completed in fewer hours than estimated. When I realized how much stuff we had, and saw the team in action, I was extremely glad that we had hired help. It was money well spent!
