We used Verified Van Lines, a broker from Florida, to move from WA state to Colorado. Their quote was in the middle of the quotes we received ($9000 approx) compared to $12,000-$15,000 for the bigger companies. Firstly, they would not give a pick-up date but gave a 3 day window. If we wanted one day in particular, we had to pay more. When the moving company they had contracted to move us arrived, the estimated square footage was incorrect, so they had to strap some of our items outside the truck, and the price went up to $12,000. The inventory list was completely inaccurate. Verified Van Lines assures you they use professional services but we had chairs listed as boxes, planks of wood listed as something else. When we got to the end we had such a hard time checking to see if anything was missing. We were told that the truck would go straight to Colorado...nope! It sat in WA for nearly a month. We were also told that our belongings would not be with any other household or come off of the truck. Both not true. We were going on a trip and had to pressure them for an arrival date, which was the day before we were leaving. When the truck finally arrived, we had nearly $3000 of damage done, including things they had packed (my husbands grandfathers clock that we paid extra for them to pack). We also had items go missing. They also did not have professional unpackers; the driver puts a Craigslist ad out for help. We put in a claim, the process of which was the most unprofessional I have ever experienced, to be offered $185, but to get that, we would have to pay for a notary. So avoid Verified Van Lines and Moving Peak Relocation.
