Run around games with payment. They supply a carrier packet. In the carrier packet it requests all carrier information as usual including preferred payment method. I selected ACH payment net 28 days. The packet requires you upload a voided check for ACH. I did this. Upload was successful. Packet submitted. A month later i requested an update on payment status. They emailed back very promptly saying they were sending a check out that day. I then emailed back requesting clarification whether this would be ACH or a mailed check and specified that I signed up for ACH in the onboarding carrier packet. Got no response the rest of the day. Following morning still no response, I reached out again. Was told they mailed a check because they didn’t have a voided check sent to them. I called them out on this just to be told and I quote “we do no use information from the carrier packet. You have to send the voided check via email” which was NOT specified on their carrier packet. I responded asking what the point is of having a carrier packet if they won’t use the carrier packet information? All this was, is a gimmick to delay payment. They brokered this load for Hawkeye Mat. An Amish company out of Minnesota/iowa. They have a net 30 day pay at Hawkeye mat. I know this because I have friends that run for them. So basically, they played some run around game to delay their 28 day carrier payment until after they got theirs. Completely disregarding the preferences on the carrier information onboarding packet. It’s little games like this that some brokers will play. We will see if I receive this payment.

These guys grab all the freight off the direct shippers load board and Instantly take 30 % or more off. Then gets mad at me when I try to negotiate when I know what they booked the load for.
