Huge warning. Do not use Pickens Kane. They’ll tell you they’re great bc Oprah once used them. I can guarantee they treated her things with white gloves. They won’t with yours. The move out was awful. They tore up dry wall in our staircase, woodwork and even the ceiling trying to remove an air hockey table from a finished basement. Also somehow stained the cream carpet black. It took them over 5 months to complete a claim just to begin repairs in the house we moved from. On the unloading end, 2 of our 3 tvs arrived broken. One was in a huge wooden crate we paid extra for. We were told not to dismount the broken tv for the insurance adjuster! So we again have to deal with their claims department that takes months to respond while starring at a broken tv set. Many broken glass items. Many dents and chips in wood furniture. Actual missing property as well. Delivery for us was on 2 different trucks. 2nd crew was only a 2 man crew for a large load, and they complained loudly the entire time they were here. That was “fun” to listen to all day. Then we were told we still owed them money. They threatened us with collections for $1750 after we had already paid them around $40K (storage too). Collections. THEN we receive an email from Michael Donahue discussing $1200 payment for moving a Toyota Prius THAT WE DO NOT EVEN OWN. I can’t make this stuff up. So, if you want to spend a lot to have your house & belongings ruined, property missing, huge mistakes and attitude thrown in your face then hire these guys. Good luck getting all your stuff back.

I've used Pickens Kane multiple times and they never disappoint! The whole process is always smooth from start to finish. The team is super friendly and take great care of my stuff, making sure everything arrives safely. They even keep me updated thru the whole process and work around my schedule. Moving is usually stressful, but they made it so much easier. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a reliable moving company!

We recently moved from Chicago to a DFW suburb and used Pickens Kane for our move. Overall, we were extremely pleased by the level of service from the initial inventory assessment, proposal and coordination, on-site pack and load, as well as the on-site move-in and unload. Led by George Hilger, the crew on both ends were professional, kind, fun, and hard working. Our belongings arrived in great condition as the team took care of them like they would their own. We are grateful for Pickens Kane coordinating our vehicle transport as well as our technology movements too. Highly recommend Kathy, Chris, George, and the Pickens Kane team.

I have used Pickens Kane twice. Once on my move from California to Illinois and one locally. They are extremely professional, starting with the on-site visit to estimate the cost of the move to the actual day of moving. I’ve tried other movers to save money, and let me tell you it’s not not worth it. I would recommend Pickens Kane every single time. Not only were they on time, both times I used them, they were early. My cross country move items arrived intact, not one thing missing or broken. That is very rare for a long distance move. Everything is wrapped and taken care of carefully. These movers are actual employees of the company, not contractors, and it shows in the way that Pickens Kane takes care of their employees, because they take care of your belongings.
