I had been renting with East View self storage since September of 2023. Would have given them 5 stars for sure. The space was always clean, carts available. Everything was just together and if you had a question you had great customer service phone or email. Things had been fine, my items were safe no issues. It was definitely new to Central Islip and managed fine. My items had been safe for the most part. One day I came to drop some things off and noticed there had been tons of ac units and garbage cans set up all over. With a bunch of dehumidifiers as well. So instantly I knew something was wrong. In almost a years time I’d never seen this. At this point it’s no longer east view it’s prime storage. I really didn’t think much of it, outside of the fact it had been hot the last few days. No idea that things had been down and it could affect my unit. I go to my unit like I had month over month and find mold growing on my boxes, bins, luggage’s and clothing. Things that had been boxed up to ensure protection. Thank goodness I have insurance because after moving everything out and into a new storage there is also a rodent issue and tons of mice poop on all my things. I have moved this storage around 100x and never once came across any of this. I have pulled everything out to reorganize so many times with my time in this storage and not once was there poop or mold. It would have been nice to get a call or email to say hey we have some climate concerns and urge you to check your things and confirm with us you have no damage. Nothing! I planned to move out but hadn’t really been rushing bc things had been fine, it was really bc they raised the price from 189 to 203. Plus all their fees and “insurance” (that still has not contacted me to resolve this). I didn’t want to take the live molded items in my car so I left them at the outdoor dumpster for safety reasons. They had the nerve to charge me for the damage their facility caused. Really disappointed because I have referred so many people. It’s easier it’s local but it’s not in good shape currently. All in all I would suggest checking Suffolk Storage in Bohemia. Tell them I referred you, you can get 2 months free until end of August. The safe was support nice, it’s only 10mins from this space and it’s brand new. So new there’s less that 60 of us renting currently. 4 floors and better price options. The 2 months free only applies if you go into the space to sign up.

While my experience isn't related to storage per say, I did have a pleasant experience at this location. Moving is one of the most stressful times in a person's life plus around the same time I was getting married. Needless to say, I was overwhelmed both physically and mentally. In addition, every place that sold moving supplies wanted an arm and leg for barely anything at all. The front desk person Alyssa took the time to hear me vent (mind you, she didn't have to do that) and actually LISTENED to WHAT I NEEDED. She took the time to show me the different options available to me which were quite a number of options. She actually delivered good old fashioned customer service, and that's a rare thing to find nowadays in a time where everything is being run by automated machines and AI. Look, while I may have been there for a totally different reason other than storage, if their employees were able to give such a strong impression on a first time visit, this speaks volumes of the facility they are running. For this reason, I definitely look forward to having my personal items stored here in the future as space is starting to become scarce in my current home. Please continue the good work, guys!

Very thorough explanation of everything involved in renting the storage unit. From payment, to protection plan, rental payment, how to use the lock even how to open the storage unit!! Everything was reviewed in a manner that we understand the procedures and responsibilities. The facility was clean and well supplied with enough carts to easily transport our items. The security systems instilled confidence. Would definitely recommend Prime Storage.
