Where to begin.... Avoid Redwood moving at all costs. Below is the exact e-mail(with sensitive information redacted) that was sent to the owner, Robert Fraser and his office manager Lisa, after a horrible cross country move experience. As of this post, no response or communication. Avoid this company AT ALL COST and VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET. YOU, THE CUSTOMER, HAVE THE POWER TO STOP BAD BUSINESS BEHAVIOR.

(Client Name redacted) has been removed from the thread. I have POA for her affairs. I will handle all communications regarding this matter for this point forward.
There is much more to this than just the damage claim but we can address that later.
If you could kindly prepare a master invoice with all line-item charges and associated credits(posted balance payments) that would be helpful. The billing has been messy. "Client Name" has shared that there were several separate charges billed to her credit card and I need to assign rendered services to tie out the remitted amounts. I look forward to receiving this.
Redwood Moving and Storage played an instrumental role in taking advantage of an elderly, recently-widowed woman moving across the country who is under emotional and mental duress. As mentioned, I am "Client Name" POA and she is under psychiatric care. How this was not witnessed and noted is quite shocking given her fragile state. "Client Name" does not have the mental and cognitive ability to engage in contractual signing.
"Client Name" was repeatedly told by Donald Lawson that her quote was “just an estimate” and the final amount would be calculated and billed by weight. The 7,000 lb minimum in fine print was never explained, nor is it even remotely reasonable and is grossly over estimated given the total shipment weight of just over 2,000 lbs - see attached exhibit provided by the delivery driver at delivery on 5/8/2024 in Wake Forest NC.
Donald knew full well he overestimated the weight and beefed up the “terms” to inflate the price, regardless of what she actually needed to move, leaving "Client Name" to believe all is well and that the weight would be the final qualification for cost. Why even provide an estimate if this was essentially a fixed price bid from the beginning? She was helpless, confused, and taken advantage of.
"Client Name", up until delivery, assumed she would be billed by weight. Just look at the Redwood Moving and Storage quote for 3/26/24 - it clearly states 7,280 lbs is what is “estimated” to be moved and the rate for that load weight amount with a discount(30%) - that estimate was over 3x what she actually moved. Deceitful, shameful, abusive. Not to mention very likely illegal by several California statues.
It is clearly evident that Donald knowingly engaged in deceptive practices to take advantage of the fragile situation in a predatory and aggressive manner which has left "Client Name" financially at risk, and at loss, as a direct result of his actions. Her move, for 2,000 lbs is over $13,000.00 by last count. Unacceptable.
Your prompt attention and response is appreciated. Please respond before Monday, 5/13/2024, close of business PST. My goal is to resolve this swiftly and amicably. We view this as a credit for the lbs not shipped as billed by the estimated rate

Now days it’s hard to find quality service you can trust. The team at Redwood Moving & Storage deserve a shout out for 5 Star service they deliver! The Sales Manager Don was very friendly and did an honest assessment of our needs, educated us on our options, and allowed us to choose the moving plan that was right for us. The movers John & Daniel couldn’t have been any kinder, more efficient, or more respectful of our home and property. They were very polite, caused zero damage, and completed the job under the budgeted amount of time! Even after going the extra mile to put our beds and dressers together! Everyone at Redwood should be very proud of the Exceptional Service they deliver. Until our experience with Redwood my wife and I have always assumed that moving ourselves would be cheaper, more efficient, and come with less risk. The team at Redwood changed our minds about that! And we would would highly recommend everyone using them for your moving needs! Thanks again team Redwood!

Redwood Moving did an excellent job moving us from our apartment home in Santa Rosa to Palm Springs. Don and his team made the always daunting process of moving a smooth operation for us. They were consistently professional, friendly, courteous, proactive and expedient throughout the process. The packing in particular was a stand out among their other superlative deliverables. Recently we moved from Eureka to Santa Rosa and used Redwood Moving & Storage because a professional in the area had used them many times and recommended them to many of the families she worked with over the past decades who relocated to the area.
We were not disappointed. Paul Frazier took great care of the quote process and was fair and upfront about every detail. The office manager, Lisa did her best to keep the lines of communication going, even with PG&E power outages for 4 days during our quote and acceptance process.
We only paid for the exact weight of our load. If the original estimate was higher than the actual weight after it was loaded and weighed, then they lower the price to the exact weight. If the original estimate was lower than the exact weight after it was loaded and weighed, they honor the original estimate and don't charge us the actual weight of our possessions and increase the price. How much more fair could a company be?
Also, other companies made us pay up front, where Redwood Movers does not.
How can you lose or be hurt?
In addition, the crew of Mel, David, Daniel and Angel worked without slacking off for the entire 8 hours and I did not have one occasion where I observed any lack of care, effort or service. We were running behind on our packing and the crew did a nice job of helping us pack up our last things and saved us a lot of time and hassle.
Our belongings were treated with care and respect and there was no damage to anything of any significance. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and Redwood Moving & Storage are the best movers I have every worked with in over 40 years and approximately 25 moves over my life on both the east and west coasts.
So refreshing to find honest, ethical and caring people.
I highly recommend this company.
